In that instant, Ashton’s wounds split open even further, his bones letting out creaking sounds as though they were being crushed.
Lawrence was just about to intervene when Ashton suddenly stopped him, saying, “He’s my opponent, Mr. Clarkson Senior.”
Lawrence furrowed his brow in response, but in the end, he refrained from stepping in.
“What do you want from me?” Ashton asked.
Upon sensing the barely contained bloodlust in Ashton’s eyes, Cassian felt a jolt of surprise.
He studied the youth with newfound appreciation before replying, “You have defeated the Sage, so you’re rightfully the new
ruler of the criminal underworld of Javonbury. You can rest assured that I’ll acknowledge that outcome.”
He suddenly changed his tone, stating with a chilling killing intent, “You see, I want you to be my subordinate, and just like the Sage, your absolute loyalty and obedience shall belong only to me. What do you say, Ashton?”
In the
e, Irina approached with a sway of her hips in her tight–fitting skirt before saying, “You should know that submitting to Mr. Lowery is the best move you could make.
“You may act with total impunity under his protection. You won’t have to look over your shoulder for the Dominion Vanguard or the Empyrean Sentinel anymore.”
Upon spotting Irina’s smiling countenance, Ashton narrowed his eyes slightly. He had been right all along–Irina wasn’t Flint’s secretary, but a follower of Cassian, the Grand Wanderer of the Lowery family.
“I’m sorry, but you’re not worthy of my submission! I’ll never submit to anyone!” Ashton declared, his voice unyielding.
Cassian, seeming to have anticipated Ashton’s response, smiled mockingly. “I truly admire you, Ashton. I’ll make sure you ascend to the divine realm as long as you submit to me. You may even retain your place within the Legion, and I’ll give you whatever you’re after.
“If you refuse such terms, then I’ll be forced to face you myself. after all, I have no intention of giving up Javonbury!”
Cassian’s killing intent became more chilling as he fixed his gaze on Ashton, subjecting the latter to a constant, crushing weight.
In that instant, a volatile energy howled through the air, while the crowd stood with bated breath, feeling that a new round of fighting was imminent.
“I refuse!” Ashton snarled as he licked the blood from his lips, a shadow like that of Lord Ashdrake kindling in his gaze.
He then stated gravely and deliberately, “I don’t care what kind of ancient martial arts family background you have. You’ll be held accountable for the Sage’s crimes since you supported a traitorous bastard like him!”
That statement made the atmosphere incredibly tense and cold. Ashton remained defiant despite his near–fatal injuries, completely disregarding a divine realm expert like Cassian.
Upon hearing that, Cassian erupted into boisterous laughter. “You’re amazing! You’ve actually succeeded in provoking my wrath!”
He scoffed and said, “I’ll be honest with you–I never liked you from the moment I laid eyes on you! I even worried that if you submitted to me, I wouldn’t be able to kill you! I’m glad that I don’t have to worry about that now!”

Chapter 805
Ashton felt a jolt through his internal organs. He forced himself to take a breath, preparing to enter a state of total combat immersion at any second.
Cassian scoffed, his gaze dripping with condescension. “You can rest assured that I have no intention of taking advantage of someone who’s gravely injured at the moment!
“Let’s adhere to the old custom and face each other in a life–or–death match! I’ll be the one issuing the challenge this time–ten days from now, at Terminus Cliff, each side will send three experts to the fight!
“The ultimate victor will reign over both the criminal underworld and the establishment of Javonbury–becoming King of Javonbury–while the losing end will die where they stand!”
With that, Cassian waved his hand, sending a blood–red challenge letter–already prepared–soaring toward Ashton. “Do you, Ashton Gray, the new ruler of the criminal underworld of Javonbury, dare to accept the challenge?”
Ashton accepted the letter, a grin spreading across his face. “I accept your challenge to a life–or–death match! I’ll be the one to pass judgment on you at Terminus Cliff, ten days from now. And on that day, all of Javonbury shall fall under the Legion’s control!”
“How audacious!” Cassian’s eyes narrowed slightly. He clearly hadn’t anticipated Ashton’s unwavering response, thinking that the man truly had no fear of death.
He then stated solemnly, “If that’s the case, let’s choose the three combatants, then!”
Ashton pondered for a moment before asking curiously, “Who have you selected for the fight, then?”
“You can rest assured that the people I have selected are all from Javonbury, with not a single soul among them hailing f ancient martial arts family. It’s going to be a level playing field when we fight for the title of King of Javonbury in ten deres
Cassian flashed a knowing smile before calling out in a calm, commanding tone. “You may come out now to meet your opponent, Mr. Moore!”
It wasn’t long before George–dressed in a plain long robe–arrived like a gust of wind and stood by Cassian’s side. He bowed respectfully to Cassian and said, “I’m here at your service, Mr. Lowery!”
That proclamation struck like a shattering blow, leaving everyone stunned. George’s appearance caused the entire crowd to bolt to their feet, their throats tightening as they stared in sheer incredulity.
“I’m not seeing things, am I? George Moore, the richest man in Javonbury, actually just addressed Cassian as ‘Mr. Lowery‘ with total submission! That means George is just like the Sage–both are mere vassals to Cassian!
“Cassian truly is the undisputed King of Javonbury, controlling both the criminal underworld and the establishment of Javonbury!”
“Oh God! It turns out that all this time, Javonbury has indeed been guided by an actual King of Javonbury!”
“Cassia is such a terrifying figure! If Ashton hadn’t overthrown the Sage to become the new ruler of the criminal underworld of Javonbury, we probably would never have discovered who truly holds power over Javonbury! Cassian has stayed hidden remarkably well!”
“That’s what makes the Grand Wanderer of an ancient martial arts family so terrifying!”
“Ashton is done for this time. After all, we all know how formidable George truly is! There’s no way Ashton can defeat both George and Cassian! Their life–or–death match is practically a suicide mission!”
“H–How could you, Dad?” Faye was struck harder than anyone. She stood there shaking, biting her lip as she watched George take his place next to Cassian. She looked like her whole world had just been turned upside down.
George, lifting his gaze to meet Faye’s, sighed helplessly and said, “I owe everything I have to Mr. Lowery, so I must obey his
