Chapter 820
Chapter 826
“Okay. I won’t lose this fight.”
Ashton’s fighting spirit surged within him. This duel wasn’t just about whether he lived or died. It would determine Celia’s custody and whether the Legion could secure its footing in Javonbury and rise again. In this fight, their future would be settled.
“If we want to win this, then the best outcome is for both of us to break into the divine realm. Moreover, challenging a divine realm expert while still at the semi–divine level is close to suicide. So, let’s stop wasting time and cultivate together.”
Faye had attempted to break into the divine realm once before and failed. Because of that, she understood how terrifying and difficult it was to cross beyond the semi–divine stage. Many people stayed at that stage their whole lives and were unable to advance any further.
“Okay. But before that, I need to reconfigure the Spiritual Energy–Gathering Array.”
Ashton led Faye to the summit of the mountain. With a single motion of his hand, streams of black energy surged outward and poured into the existing array, altering its structure and reinforcing its core.
Within moments, the formation that blanketed the entire Nimbus Summit Heights seemed to come alive. A dark glow spread across its surface as it activated. With the villa at its center, it began drawing in the surrounding spiritual energy from every direction.
“The spiritual energy has become much denser,” she said, her eyes widening as she looked at him. “I didn’t expect you to understand formation techniques.”
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me yet,” Ashton replied with a smile. “You’ll find out over time.”
After activating the Spiritual Energy–Gathering Array to its peak output, Ashton slowly exhaled and pulled Faye back into his arms. His hand settled around her slender waist as he led her toward the secret room in the villa.
She struggled briefly but realized she couldn’t break free from his grip. After a moment of hesitation, she stopped resisting.
Faye had to admit that, as she came to know Ashton better, she no longer felt any aversion toward him. Instead, a trace of curiosity had taken root, and she even found herself drawn to his presence, wanting to understand the man he truly was.
Once inside, Ashton stopped suppressing his Drakeborne lineage. A violent, searing aura surged outward from his body, and a dragon’s roar echoed around them.
Under its pull, Faye’s body trembled as her Phoenixborne lineage surged out of control. Her blood flow accelerated rapidly while her aura spread through the room.
In the next moment, they sat cross–legged facing each other and let their energies merge as they entered selfless cultivation.
Behind Ashton, the image of a black dragon took shape, while around Faye coiled a crimson phoenix. The dragon and phoenix manifestations intertwined, their opposing energies flowing in seamless harmony.
Their absorption of spiritual energy accelerated noticeably, and their cultivation advanced rapidly. As their bloodline powers clashed, both lineages began to awaken further under the pressure.
Heat flared through their bodies. They continued to draw closer, as though some torce of fate had brought them together and bound their paths. The dragon’s roar and the phoenix’s cry rang out without pause as their bloodlines surged toward awakening.
Under this repeated cycle of cultivation, several days passed in the blink of an eye.
“I want to try to step into the divine realm.”
Faye opened her amber eyes as the aura surrounding her continued to intensify. A strange crimson glow spread across her skin, and the barrier of the semi–divine realm stood within reach.
“Do your best, but don’t force it. I’ll protect you,” Ashton said in a low voice,
