Lawrence spoke coldly as he gripped the Sovereign Silver Spear and issued a blunt warning.
The moment those words fell, the Lowery family members went pale. The image of the expert pinned to the ground earlier flashed through their minds, sending a chill down their spines.
That man had been the strongest among them aside from Gavin. Even he had failed to block a single strike from Lawrence. If they rushed forward now to rescue Cassian, they would simply be throwing their lives away.
Everyone present understood one thing clearly–Lawrence never made empty threats, and whatever he said, he carried out without hesitation.
“Uncle Gavin, save me!” Cassian cried out as his eyes widened.
Just moments ago, he had believed he had grasped a lifeline, only to watch it vanish instantly. Worse still, he had foolishly continued threatening Ashton, which only fueled his killing intent even further.
Ashton threw another punch. This time, his fist drove straight through Cassian’s abdomen, leaving a bloody hole that looked horrific.
Cassian let out a shrill scream. Clenching his teeth, he forced all his spiritual energy toward protecting his heart while desperately trying to defend himself and flee. He hoped to buy himself even a sliver of time to survive.
“Cassian, do you realize that right now you look exactly like a dog?” Ashton taunted with a savage grin.
He continued the pursuit, pressing the attack as he grew more adept at controlling the divine realm’s power.
Seeing Cassian on the verge of death, Gavin could no longer remain seated and rose to his feet. Just as he prepared to intervene, strands of killing intent locked onto him.
Lawrence’s cold gaze turned toward him, his voice low and chilling.
“If you want to die before Cassian does, I can arrange that.”
Gavin’s frown deepened as he answered in a low voice, “If Cassian dies, are you not afraid that the Legion will be wiped out?”
“Does the Lowery family really have the nerve to do that?” Lawrence replied with a faint smile. “Even if you dared to provoke the entire world, do you have the strength to back it up? Gavin, sit down and watch the fight.
“What you’re about to witness is the Legion’s future. And what you’re about to see will be a masterpiece.”
Gavin’s face slowly twisted with fury. After a brief moment of thought, he turned to Jaden, Thomas, and Micah from Jalun.
“According to the plan, we attack together to kill Lawrence and end this threat once and for all,” he said.
Jaden and Thomas both show signs of interest, yet each secretly preferred that Gavin and the Lowery family fight Lawrence first, weakening him before they stepped in.
After all, the ones about to die wouldn’t be their people. Besides, if Cassian were killed, the hatred between the Lowery family and the Legion would deepen, which would benefit them even more.
Jaden shook his head and said, “Mr. Lowery, it’s not time yet. The crowd has not yet been fully evacuated. Let’s wait a little longer.”
Thomas quickly echoed the sentiment. “Mr. Lowery, there is no need to rush.”
Micah kept his eyes fixed on Ashton the entire time and did not even bother responding to Gavin.
“Mr. Lowery, please save Cassian. He can’t hold on much longer!” Wynter cried anxiously.
Gavin clenched his fists but did not dare charge into the combat arena. The moment he did so, he would face Lawrence alone.
