Roxy felt both relief and pity.
It was then that a frigid, derisive voice suddenly rang out across the sky–a woman’s voice, with a peculiar magnetism, lingered in the air.
“I never expected the Legion to have fallen this far. Lawrence–that old bastard–probably won’t even rest in peace when he dies!”
Just as the voice stopped, dozens of killing intents aimed at Ashton were seemingly sealed in place. They halted an inch from him, unable to move further or deal a fatal blow. Ashton froze, his pupils contracting as the space before him solidified, freezing Shane’s extraordinary powers in place.
“What an overwhelming spatial power!” Ashton was inwardly shocked, for such mastery over spatial power stunned him.
“Who is it?”
Shane’s eyes flashed with killing intent, though his back had already been soaked in cold sweat. He stepped back reflexively, his face showing clear apprehension.
“I’m the head of the Legion–Queenie Nolan!”
The declaration rang out like thunder, deafening all who heard it.
In the midst of the twisting space and swirling energy, a gorgeous woman with pinned–up hair drifted down like a goddess.
Queenie appeared before Ashton, her gaze sweeping over him as she inspected him. “You’re the future of the Legion that old bastard Lawrence risked his life to protect, huh? You look rather average. Do you really have what it takes to carry the Legion’s future?”
Just a glimpse from the corner of her eye gave Ashton a powerful sense of oppression. He furrowed his brow and clenched his fists, stating gravely, “Please do not insult Mr. Clarkson Senior.”
Queenie sneered. “Mr. Clarkson Senior, huh? He’s the old bastard who got my father killed! What’s wrong with me insulting him?”
Ashton narrowed his eyes as a cold killing intent appeared within them.
“What’s the matter? Do you still want to make a move against me? You should wait until you have the power for that!” Queenie pulled her gaze away from Ashton and flicked a casual look at the fallen legionnaires.
She then glared at Shane and asked mercilessly, “You really think you can take someone from my Legion, huh?”
Shane’s heart jolted at Queenie’s single remark. He began to tremble even harder, unable to look directly into Queenie’s eyes. “You were supposed to be gone! How did you get here?”

Shane felt weighed down with a heavy sense of dread. He hadn’t expected Queenie’s arrival at all. He couldn’t help but wonder if Lawrence’s final decision for Queenie to serve as the head of the Legion for three years was something they had discussed long ago.
He then thought about the rumors that Lawrence and Queenie were enemies. Hadn’t Queenie sworn that she would never set foot in the Legion again in this lifetime? He couldn’t make sense of anything that was happening at that moment.
“Queenie Nolan? It’s actually Queenie–the one Mr. Clarkson Senior personally designated to be the next head of the Legion! It seems like things have taken a turn for the better just when everything seemed lost! Mr. Clarkson Senior clearly had a fallback plan! There is hope for Ashton and the Legion!”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I mean, Shane is an extraordinary powerhouse. Is Queenie actually strong enough to resist him? I feel like the energy she’s projecting seems average at best…”
“You simply don’t know how scary Queenie can be–she is among the most frightening geniuses of her generation. If you were a powerhouse from the same era as Queenie, you’d understand how horrific and how despair–inducing Queenie makes people feel!”
