Aaron’s eyes flickered with panic. He had thought the worst outcome would be handing over all his territory on Linton Island, but he hadn’t expected Steven to set his sights on Miranda.

Steven was already 50 years old, while Miranda was still so young.

There was no way Aaron would ever let his daughter become Steven’s mistress. That was a condition he would never accept, even if it cost him his life.

“What do we do, Miranda? You need to run. Leave Linton Island as fast as you can. Once you’re out of here, Steven won’t be able to force you to be his mistress. You can’t end up with that old geezer. That’d be worse than dying,” Quinn said, her voice starting to shake.

Aaron had been defeated, and Maddox had submitted. There was no one left in Linton Island’s criminal underworld who could stop Steven now.

“Miranda, don’t worry. I’ll protect you,” Cyrus said, stepping forward.

He added in a low voice, “My dad has joined forces with Steven. I’ll tell him you’re my fiancee. Even if he doesn’t care about me, he’ll still have to respect my dad and Apex Martial Academy.”

Quinn perked up and said, “That might actually work.”

Miranda paused and glanced at Ashton, but he didn’t notice her.
