Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 135

Right now, Wiona had no clue that the secret she had tried so hard to hide was already out in the open. She sat downstairs, face-to-face with Madison, meeting her properly for the first time since the truth about their identities had come to light.

It was kind of awkward, neither of them knowing what to say at first. Wiona finally broke the silence. “Thank you, for what you did earlier.”

She honestly hadn’t expected Madison to stick up for her.

Madison just shrugged. “It was nothing. Besides, you would have been fine without me.”

Wiona couldn’t really explain the hotel’s attitude, so she just smiled.

“I’m surprised by how you’re treating me,” she admitted. “I thought you’d hate me.”

In truth, Madison was the only one in the Morgan family who didn’t openly make things difficult for her.

Madison picked up her coffee, every movement graceful and confident. The Morgans really had taught their daughters well, and Madison seemed to have mastered all those social skills effortlessly.

Catching Wiona’s look, Madison took a sip of coffee before finally answering. “At first, I did hate you.”

“I hated you for living my life. I hated that my parents and my brother loved you the way they should have loved me. I hated that you got everything I was supposed to have. Even after you left, Mom would cry herself to sleep over you.”

“I hated that my brother left the country because of you, that Dad was always sighing. I hated that they all still cared about you, even though they pretended not to for my sake.”

Wiona felt a sharp ache in her chest. She stared down at her hands, fidgeting nervously. She tried to pick up her glass of water, but her hand was shaking too much. She set it back down and pressed her palms against her knees, trying to get herself together.

“I’m sorry,” she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. “I truly am.”

Wiona blinked in surprise. She hadn’t realized Madison saw her so clearly. If Madison could get it, maybe her parents had figured it out too. Still, they chose the path that was best for the Morgan family, letting her go and focusing everything on winning back the real daughter they had lost for so many years. Maybe that was their way of fixing things.

Wiona tried to smile, but it came out crooked. “I guess I’m the type who can mess up even the best situations.”

Madison shook her head. “What do you mean, ‘your type’? What exactly have you done that’s so unforgivable? Think about it. What was really your fault?”

“Let me finish, Wiona. I did hate you at first, but eventually I realized you’re a victim too. Sure, you had everything for two decades, but when you lost it all overnight, that’s a kind of pain most people couldn’t handle. Going from having everything to nothing in a single day, losing all the love you grew up with… anyone would break down.”

“It’s not like your family did this on purpose. Someone who hated the Morgans dragged you into this mess. You were just a baby. And honestly, you’re not spoiled or selfish. You’re brave, you know when to hold on and when to let go. You even married someone you didn’t love for the sake of the family.”

“I’ve wondered, if I hadn’t been lost, would I have been the one forced to marry Jace?”
