Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 147

When Wiona showed up at the gates of the Salisbury estate, the guard practically jumped out of his skin.

“Mrs. Salisbury? Is that really you? Are you… are you a ghost or something?”

Wiona raised an eyebrow. “Well, what do you think?”

The guard spun around and took off running. “It’s her! It’s Mrs. Salisbury! She’s finally back!”

He didn’t even stop to catch his breath before calling out, “Someone tell George! Mrs. Salisbury’s here at the gate!”

Wiona’s sudden reappearance was as mysterious as her disappearance. George felt his legs almost give out when he heard the news. When he reached the gate and saw Wiona for himself, he couldn’t hold back his tears.

“Ma’am, where did you go? We’ve been searching everywhere for you. Do you have any idea how worried we all were?”

Wiona gave him a look of surprise. “Wait, none of you knew? That night, I left right through the front gate. The Morgans had an emergency, so I left a note. I think it was around midnight.”

Midnight? A note? She left through the front gate? George looked at the guard, his confusion obvious.

The guard shook his head so hard he was nearly trembling. “I swear, I didn’t see anything. I really didn’t…”

The truth was, nobody had seen Wiona leave. Even after combing through every second of the security footage, they found nothing. There was no note in her room, either. And why would she walk out in the middle of the night without a car? She just vanished, and now here she was again.

Wiona’s feelings toward Grandma Grace were complicated. She respected her, but at the same time, Grandma Grace had always tried to force her and Jace to stay together, no matter what. Wiona thought that keeping her promise to delay the divorce was already more than enough, but the never-ending drama was just too much. She didn’t want to keep making sacrifices just to please Grandma Grace. That’s why she left, even if it meant hurting her. Hearing that Grandma Grace was back in the hospital made her feel uneasy, but she tried not to show it.

And deep down, Wiona suspected Grandma Grace was behind what happened with Taylor.

*Grandma, if you really are the one pulling the strings… then whatever love I had left for you is gone for good.*

Wiona had come back to look for answers. As long as she wasn’t completely locked up, she still had hope. She walked through the house, checking every painting, looking for even the smallest clue. Everything was just as she remembered. Nothing had changed.

So who took the painting from the Salisbury family? Who sold it? And where had it gone?
