Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 15

Bianca was quick to jump in. “Yeah, Wiona. Aren’t you supposed to be resting in your room for the baby?

“You could barely stand when you got here. You collapsed right into Jace’s arms. So how are you all better now?

“Dad, Mom, it has to be Wiona who upset Grandma.

“After everything Grandma’s done for her, how could she do something so awful?

“Dad, shouldn’t there be some consequences?”

Daniel hesitated, remembering Wiona was pregnant. “Wiona, do you have anything you want to say?”

Jean rushed to explain, “Sir, Ma’am, you’ve got it all wrong. Mrs. Salisbury didn’t do this.”

Alona snapped, “Jean, are you seriously still covering for her?

“You were the only people in the backyard. If it wasn’t her, then who was it?

“Just tell us what really happened.”

Wiona let out a cold laugh. “Who said we were the only ones out there?”

Suddenly, the door flew open with a loud thud.

Jace finally showed up, late as usual.

“Wiona!

“Are you alright?

“Why aren’t you resting in your room? Grandma’s situation must’ve scared you.”

He hurried over, looking all worried, and pulled her into a hug.

But as soon as Wiona caught the scent of perfume that clearly wasn’t hers, her stomach lurched. She couldn’t hold it in and threw up all over his expensive suit.

The mess was everywhere, and the smell hit everyone instantly.

The rest of the Salisbury family immediately pinched their noses.

Bianca lost it. “Wiona, that’s disgusting! You’re so gross!”

Jace glared at her, his expression dark. “You…”

Wiona just wiped her mouth, calm as ever. “Sorry. Morning sickness.”

Everyone couldn’t help but wonder if she’d done it on purpose.

Jace didn’t seem as mad as everyone expected. Instead, he studied Wiona, and for some reason, his heart skipped a beat. She seemed different tonight.

Did she know something?

She’d sounded uneasy on the phone last time, and today she was more quiet than usual. Was she trying to get his attention? Did she really care about him that much?

He found himself feeling a flicker of pity. After all, she was carrying his child.

So, swallowing his disgust, he said gently, “It’s alright. You’ve been through so much. It’s just a couple of ruined suits.”

He looked at his parents. “Mom, Dad, I was near the backyard too.”

“I didn’t hear any arguing. I think it was just an accident.”

Jean nodded quickly to support his story.

Wiona felt a dull ache in her chest, but honestly, she was relieved. Now, just the idea of sharing a roof with him made her uncomfortable, let alone having to sleep in the same bed.

As soon as he left, she opened her eyes.

She texted Remy, “Did you find what you were looking for at the Salisbury house today?”

Remy replied, “A bit, but not much.

“I did record something interesting, though. You might want to see it.”

Remy sent over a video.

Wiona tapped it open and immediately sat up straight.

It was a clip of Jace and Kellen meeting up in the rose garden.

Remy had caught them together.

Wiona felt a wave of determination. “Let’s meet tomorrow.”

The next morning, she heard Grandma Grace had woken up.

After freshening up, Wiona took her time heading over to see her.

“Come here, sweetheart, sit next to Grandma,” Grandma Grace said, patting the spot beside her. Bianca pouted and moved out of the way.

“Grandma.” Wiona took her hand, feeling her eyes sting.

She’d never known Grandma Grace was terminally ill. She’d always thought the old lady was just dealing with some common health problems, which was why she’d been staying at the nursing home so long.
