Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 198

Wiona told Tim and Jim to park at the end of the alley. The four of them got out and walked in together.

Number 32 turned out to be another old, self-built apartment building. Molly looked up at all seven floors and shook her head. “Is this really the place? Dad just said something about a password, but he never mentioned which apartment it was.”

“So, how are we supposed to find it?” she asked Wiona.

“If there’s a password, there must be a clue somewhere,” Wiona replied. “Let’s check it out.”

They walked in, and sure enough, only the first-floor unit had a keypad on the door.

Molly typed in her own birthday, not expecting much, but the door unlocked with a soft click.

Inside, everything was draped in dust. It looked like nobody had set foot in here for years. Wiona put on a mask and started checking the place out. Molly wandered around, lost in thought.

“I think... when I was little, my mom once told me that after my grandparents passed away, they left my dad some property,” Molly said quietly.

“But Dad was such a mess when he was younger. He blew everything on drinking and gambling. He lost all the houses...”

“My parents ended up homeless. They had to pull strings just to get long-term work with the Salisbury family.”

She looked at Wiona, her voice barely above a whisper. “Do you think... maybe Dad left me a house after all?”

“But that’s just not like him.”

“Maybe it really is yours,” Wiona said.

“Hey, Molly, there’s a safe in here.”

She found it in the master bedroom closet. The safe still had power. Clearly, someone had been back from time to time.

Molly tried her birthday for the code, but it didn’t work. She paused, thinking hard, then entered another date. The safe clicked open.

She stared at it in shock. “It’s... it’s Mom’s birthday.”

Inside was the deed to the house, a handful of gold jewelry that looked expensive, and tucked at the bottom, a bank book.

Molly flipped to the last page, eyes wide. “Wait—one million, two hundred thousand? How did my dad have this much money?”

She looked at Wiona, her voice trembling. “I feel like I don’t even know my dad anymore. What else has he been hiding?”

Wiona picked up a small plastic bag from the safe. “Maybe the answers are in here.”

Inside was a USB drive.

Tim stepped forward. “Ms. Morgan, we have a laptop in the car. I can plug this in.”

Wiona nodded. She and Molly quickly gathered everything and headed back to the car.

They plugged in the drive. Old photos filled the screen, all a little grainy but clear enough to recognize the people.

“I know you’re in there. Why are you hiding from me?” he yelled. “And who are these guys?”

“Wiona, explain yourself. Why are you mixed up with the Sullivan family? What have you been up to all this time?”

“Don’t forget, you’re carrying my children. You’re still my wife!”

Tim and Jim turned around. “Ms. Morgan, should we get rid of him?”

Wiona glanced outside. It wasn’t just Jace—a familiar Maserati slid into view.

Kyle. Of course, he had to show up now too.

Wiona had no patience to deal with either of them. She made up her mind instantly.

“Drive,” she said. “Lose them.”

Tim nodded. “Yes, Ms. Morgan. Hold on tight.”

The car shot forward. Jace stumbled, landing hard on the pavement as they sped away.

Kyle, who had just stepped out of his car, jumped back in. “Go! Follow them!”

Jace pounded his fist on the ground, then scrambled to his car. “After them!”
