Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 213

Wiona wore a baggy coat, so even though she was a little over three months pregnant with twins and her belly was starting to show, Jace couldn’t really tell. But when he heard her words, his face twisted in shock and fury. He lunged at her, his hand clamping around her neck.

“Wiona! How could you?” His voice shook with rage. “That was my child!”

Cameras flashed nearby, their sharp pops filling the air.

Suddenly, two men in black appeared. Before Jace could react, one of them had him pinned to the ground. The other stepped protectively in front of Wiona.

Molly hurried over, tucking her camera away as she reached Wiona. “Are you okay? Your neck is bright red.” She glared at Jace, who was struggling on the ground. “You… how dare you do that in broad daylight? Now we have evidence. You’ll never be able to bully Wiona again!”

Molly’s eyes burned with anger as she gently blew on the marks on Wiona’s neck, trying to soothe her. Jace finally realized he’d fallen right into Wiona’s trap. If news got out that he had attacked her, it would be a disaster for Salisbury Corporation, and his position with his father would get even shakier.

Only now did he see how carefully Wiona had planned all this. She was far more ruthless and clever than he’d ever imagined. Today, on the day of their divorce, he finally understood just how much he’d underestimated her. Too proud to let anyone see him humbled, he’d shown up at city hall alone. Now he was on the ground, completely disgraced, looking nothing like the powerful Mr. Salisbury everyone feared.

Wiona touched her neck, still feeling the ache from his grip. For that moment, when she couldn’t breathe, she knew without a doubt he’d meant to kill her. What a monster!

Thank God she was finally free. She’d prepared for every possible outcome, and now, he had nothing left to use against her.

She stared down at him, her eyes cold. Thinking back to how she’d once hoped for a peaceful life with him made her want to laugh.

“Forget him,” she said quietly. “Let’s go.”

Wiona took Molly’s arm, and with Jim leading the way, they headed to the car.

Tim only let go of Jace once he was sure Wiona was safe inside. “Mr. Salisbury, Ms. Morgan isn’t alone anymore,” he said in a low, warning tone. “Next time you even think about laying a finger on her, you’d better think twice. Or you’ll watch Salisbury Corporation go down with you.”

With that, Tim left.

Jace stared at the photos scattered on the ground, humiliation burning inside him. He started to laugh, but the sound was empty and bitter. The laughter faded, leaving only a hollow ache.

Wiona, you’re my wife. How could you do this to me?

Just hearing Wiona’s name made Marian wince. She answered nervously, “Sir, don’t you remember? She hasn’t been living here for a while. After Kellen visited, you told Wiona to leave and gave her room to Kellen.”

The memory hit Jace, and his expression darkened. “So all this is because of that one little thing?”

“Well… sir, it really wasn’t a small thing,” Marian said quietly. “You knew she moved to the first floor. That day was a big mess.”

Jace shot her a hard look. “Enough. Don’t talk so much.”

He went downstairs, then stopped as another thought hit him. “Did she move to Grandma’s villa?”

“Yes, sir. Actually, Wiona’s lived in four different places since she moved here.”

Jace stared at her in disbelief, and Marian quickly added, “There was even that time she almost had to set up a tent in the yard, right?”

Jace thought it was ridiculous. That time had just been Wiona putting on a show for his father. But even after his father supported her and said she was the only daughter-in-law of the Salisbury family, she just couldn’t be content.
