Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 335

A wave of shock swept through the crowd. People stepped aside, whispering as Sophie swept in, her dress shimmering under the lights. Every pair of eyes followed her as she marched straight ahead, radiating confidence. Her gaze was icy as it landed on Wiona, who stood there in her designer jewelry, her baby bump impossible to miss.

So it was her. Sophie remembered all too well. Not long ago, she had personally handled Wiona’s divorce papers. Wiona had acted so proud, too. Sophie had fought for a generous settlement, but Wiona had sent the documents right back, refusing the money, acting as if she was above it all. Sophie hadn’t understood it at the time, but she’d respected the decision, even thought Wiona had a streak of pride.

Now, though, it all made sense. Wiona must have set her sights on someone bigger. That explained why, the second Sophie recognized her, she felt the urge to expose her right then and there. How much time had even passed? Did Wiona have her divorce finalized yet? And somehow, she had already gotten Conrad to propose? Did Conrad even know what was really going on? It was almost impressive.

Sophie's face twisted with anger and disdain. She’d seen girls like this before. Did Wiona really think that after a messy divorce, some rich and powerful CEO would fall for a single mom? The nerve. The shamelessness!

“Conrad, you probably don’t know, but actually—”

Conrad cut her off without hesitation. “How is any of this your concern?”

His voice was cold, his eyes sharp, cutting straight through her. “Sophie, mind your own business. My life isn’t for you to judge.”

The chill in his words made Sophie stumble back, stunned. “What did you just say?” Her voice trembled with disbelief.

She wasn’t the only one thrown off. The whole room started to buzz, people whispering behind their hands.

“So Ms. Morgan has this kind of past?”

“Conrad doesn’t look surprised at all.”

“I thought she looked familiar. Isn’t she Mrs. Salisbury? She’s wiped clean from the internet now. Maybe Conrad helped with that.”

“Why would Sophie go off like that? Conrad isn’t clueless. There’s no way he doesn’t know.”

“If it’s true, though, this is wild. Why would Conrad want a woman carrying another man’s babies?”

“No matter how pretty, he’s just going to raise someone else’s kids.”

“It’s the Sullivan family’s reputation on the line. The bloodline won’t be pure. Are they really planning to let a Salisbury inherit everything?”

She’d spent all these years thinking he was still the Conrad she’d known in high school, the one who had once been her closest friend. But he wasn’t that boy anymore. Only she had been stuck in the past, waiting for him to come back.

Now, he controlled more wealth than the entire city of Stonehill. He was one of the richest men in the world. Sophie had never seen him at work, but she’d heard the stories—decisive, ruthless, impossible to sway.

She had always believed she was special to him. They had history. She thought the only reason he’d pulled away was because of his family’s problems, because of the difference in their backgrounds. After all, she had been the only girl by his side for years.

Now, though, she was left standing there, the focus of everyone’s attention, humiliated by Conrad in front of them all. Her face went pale, then hot with embarrassment. Shame washed over her, deeper than anything she had ever felt.

Her eyes filled with tears. “You knew everything. So why would you still choose her?” she asked, her voice cracking with pain. “Is she even good enough for you? I…”

“Sophie, that’s enough!” Annette’s voice rang out, sharp and urgent, shutting Sophie down completely. She hurried over, pulling Sophie behind her.

“Conrad, Sophie didn’t know the full story. She didn’t know you were going to propose to Wiona tonight. Everything she said was just a misunderstanding.”
