Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 364

With nowhere else to vent her anger, she ended up throwing anything she could get her hands on. Ruby tried to calm her down and only after a lot of persuasion did Donna finally give in and sip the calming tonic, acting like she was doing everyone a favor. Secretly though, she was pretty smug. She figured if Conrad sent her this tonic, it meant he still cared, even if he pretended otherwise.

After leaving Donna’s room, Ruby hurried down the hallway, stopping at the end to pull out her phone. “She drank the calming tonic, I made sure of it.”

Wiona barely had time to wait before Peter showed up. And it wasn’t just Peter. Conrad came too. He’d gone looking for his wife, only to find her gone. When he found out she’d called for a bodyguard this late, especially on their wedding night, he was not amused. What, was Peter more interesting than her own husband? Conrad marched downstairs himself, eager to know what could possibly be so urgent that his pregnant wife needed to see Peter right now.

Peter’s arrival changed the whole mood in the hall. The place felt heavy, almost tense, with a weird energy hanging in the air. Peter stood in front of Wiona, stiff as a board, too scared to move. Conrad sat next to Wiona, arms sprawled across the sofa behind her, one leg crossed over the other, acting like he didn’t have a care in the world. “Go ahead, talk. Pretend I’m not here.”

Pretend he wasn’t there? Like anyone could ignore him. He basically ruled the whole estate. Just one look from him was enough to make everyone nervous. No one would actually pretend he wasn’t sitting right there. Secretly, everyone felt bad for Peter. Even Phil gave Peter a sympathetic look. Everyone in the house knew how closely Conrad watched his wife. Wherever she went, his eyes followed. And now, on their wedding night, here was Peter, somehow summoned by Wiona herself. And of course, Conrad trailed after her, refusing to leave her side.

Poor Peter. Everyone was thinking it.

The only person who didn’t notice all the tension was Wiona. She took Conrad’s words at face value, got up, walked over to Peter, and handed him her phone. “Do you know this person?”

She pointed to Wilson’s face on the screen.

Peter hesitated for a second. His eyes landed on the nurse first, then shifted to the man Wiona indicated. He didn’t ask any questions, just answered straight away. “I think I remember him. He sponsored Mary.”

“Mary?” Wiona repeated.

Peter pointed at a girl in a red dress. “That’s Mary.”
