Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 4

Grandma Grace’s eyes widened with excitement.

“What did you say? Wiona, is that true?”-

Wiona realized there was no way to keep her pregnancy a secret anymore. She nodded, bracing herself.

“Yes, Grandma.”

Grandma Grace was so happy she sent Jean to fetch the family’s heirloom bracelet from the safe.

Alona happened to walk in just in time to see the scene. Her jaw clenched, so angry she nearly screamed. She’d never even gotten to touch it, and now it was being handed over to Wiona, the woman she hated most.

Bianca, standing at her mother’s side, couldn’t keep her frustration in. She shot her mom a look, her eyes rimmed red.

“Mom, can you believe it? Grandma just gave that bracelet to Wiona.

“You gave birth to me and my brother for this family, and she didn’t even give it to you.

“You’ve been running things here for years. Even if you don’t get credit, you’ve at least worked hard. But now she just skips over you and gives it to Wiona?

“I really don’t get what Grandma’s thinking anymore.”

Alona’s face went pale, then flushed, her shoulders trembling.

“This is all Wiona’s fault. She is nothing but trouble.

“She’s barely pregnant, and already your brother is defending her, and Grandma’s giving her the family treasures.

“If she actually gives birth to the first Salisbury grandson, where will that leave us? There’ll be no place for you and me.

“No way. Wiona’s baby can’t be born.”

A cold, calculating look flickered across Alona’s face.

Her mom’s words made Bianca shiver. She hated Wiona even more.

Wiona suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. She glanced into the shadows and caught sight of two figures quickly slipping away.

Dinner that night tasted like cardboard.

Jace’s father Daniel didn’t come home, so the only one at the table cheering for Wiona’s pregnancy was Grandma Grace.

After convincing the old lady to go rest, Wiona left the Salisbury estate. The second she got in the car, she slipped off the bracelet.

Jace spotted her and frowned.

“Wiona, what are you doing? Is the bracelet not good enough for you?”

The Salisbury family had only been wealthy and successful for three generations, so the bracelet wasn’t exactly top tier. It was just old, and since it was called an heirloom, people treated it like it was precious. However, Wiona had grown up surrounded by the best of everything. The Morgan family had spoiled her from the start.

Jace assumed she was looking down on his family’s precious bracelet.

His face darkened, and he slammed his palm against the back of her seat.

Before she could say anything, he snapped at her.

“Wiona, don’t push your luck.

“When the Morgan family threw you out, it was us who still took you in.

“Fine. I shouldn’t have yelled at you just now.

“But you were in the wrong, too. I’ll let it go that you talked back to Mom this time.

“But don’t let it happen again, understand?”

He touched her cheek, a small sign he was willing to back down.

Then he told her to get out of the car.

Jace said he had to get back to work and asked the family driver to take Wiona home.

Once his car was gone, Wiona pulled out her handkerchief and scrubbed at her cheek where he’d touched her, rubbing so hard her skin stung. She tossed the handkerchief aside in disgust.

Back at home, she didn’t bother putting the bracelet in the safe. Instead, she picked up her phone and called a number she hadn’t dialed in ages.

“Tina, it’s been a long time.”

“I’ve got a design for a set of jewelry. Do you think you could help me make it?”

Tina sounded thrilled on the other end.

“Wiona, is that really you?

“Oh my God, you’re the famous designer Vivian. You’ve disappeared from the scene for ages! If you’re coming back, of course I’ll help.

“But are you really sure you want to return?”
