Wiona leaned in, hands gripping the armrests. She fixed her gaze on the woman, her voice cold. “If you lie, or try anything sneaky, I’ll make you finish that little performance of yours in front of everyone at the banquet. Got it?”
The woman’s face drained of color. She hissed, “You… Are you even real? Pulling such disgusting tricks on me. Aren’t you afraid your own child will pay for this?”
Wiona slapped her, sharp and unforgiving. The woman shrieked. Wiona’s tone stayed icy. “I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine. What, it’s fine for you to mess with me, but when you get a taste, I’m the monster? If I were really ruthless, I wouldn’t have stopped things halfway. You wouldn’t be talking to me right there. And how dare you bring my child into this! I hope you never have kids. Or that your mother never had a daughter like you.”
She stood up and glanced at Nikolai and Drake. “Take her with us. No need to dress her.”
Wiona walked out of the room. In the courtyard, the five men were still tied together, clothes torn, faces swollen. When Wiona appeared, they started struggling harder, making muffled noises through their gags.
“Relax,” Wiona said, her voice flat. “We’ll get to each of you. No one’s getting out of this today.”
She crossed into the next courtyard. Nikolai and Drake dragged the woman outside and tossed her onto the snowy ground. She started to scream, desperate and wild. “Help! Somebody help me! They’re going to kill me!”
Nikolai kicked her hard in the stomach. “You should be calling for help. Because today, your whole Simpson family is going down with you.”
Wiona shot a look at Nikolai. “Make her talk.”
Nikolai reached over and dislocated the woman’s jaw. “Think you can play games with us? Do you know what happens to traitors? They get their arms and legs cut off and left to die. Want to find out what that feels like? I can soak you in a vat of liquor and make sure you wish you were dead.”
Finally, the woman broke. Shaking and sobbing, she pointed to the middle room.
Only then did Nikolai snap her jaw back into place with a loud crack. “Speak.”
