Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 505

Why was he suddenly here?

Wiona’s face drained of color. She shot a worried glance at Nikolai and hurried her steps, but she couldn’t move too fast. Luckily, Molly had been waiting outside the building. As soon as Wiona stepped out of the office, Molly rushed up and took her arm for support.

By the time they got back, the garden near Cassian’s room was in total chaos.

“Cassian, after all these years as friends, I can’t believe you’d keep us at arm’s length. You have no idea how disappointing this is,”

“Don’t you get how worried we all were? We kept asking about you, wondering when you’d wake up. We even tried pulling every string we could, reaching out for miracle doctors and remedies just to help you.”

“And what did you do?”

“You were awake this whole time, hiding out here without telling anyone.”

“You didn’t say a word, didn’t even let us know you were alright. Do we even matter to you anymore?”

“This is just too much.”

“We can’t forgive you for this!”

Wilson’s voice cut through the air, cold and furious, like Cassian had committed some kind of betrayal.

Before Cassian could get a word out, other voices jumped in.

“He’s right, Cassian. Last time Wilson told us about your condition, the hospital had already said you were brain dead. We were all devastated. And now we find out you’ve been recovering in secret? What’s there to hide?”

“Seriously, Cassian. That was low. Did you think we wouldn’t be happy for you?”

Even Nicholas couldn’t hold back. “Summer had been acting so weird and secretive lately. That’s how we figured it out.”

“Yeah, she disappeared for the holidays. We tried to ask her about you, but she was nowhere to be found. We wouldn’t have found this place if not for that.”

“Summer, how could you and your dad keep this from us?”

“We went to visit your dad at the hospital, but they said there was no patient by that name. We never even heard about you giving up on him. We worried ourselves sick, ruined our whole holiday.”

“Summer, that was really irresponsible.”

Then Bronwen’s voice, quieter but heavy, broke through. “Cassian… did you remember something? Is that why you set all this up, to keep us in the dark?”

“What are you trying to do?”

Everyone stared, completely stunned.

Wiona’s pregnancy was impossible to miss now. Her belly was big and round, nothing like before, back when Cassian first had his accident and her clothes could still hide it. Now she was glowing, radiant even, and though she was clearly far along, she walked with steady confidence. Her whole vibe had changed.

But how?

Their eyes drifted to the bodyguards behind her. It was confidence. It was a kind of assurance she’d never shown, even as the Morgan family’s heiress. Back then, she never had guards following her around like this.

Now, her presence was stronger than ever. How did she pull that off?

Bronwen shot a glance at Wilson, her face openly full of disdain. “So you’re showing off now, is that it? I always knew you’d pick up these pretentious habits. While Cassian’s fate was still unknown, you were out there parading as ‘Vivian’ at auctions.”

“Seems like all those spoiled ways never left you, even after leaving the Morgan and Salisbury families.”

“Now you’re putting on a show, throwing away the most basic manners and respect. Even if Summer had her reasons for not telling us her dad was getting better, you could have said something.”

“We watched you grow up and helped you so much over the years. If I’d known you’d turn out so ungrateful, I never would have taken you on as my student.”

Wiona let her finish, then stared her down, voice cold. “If I’m not mistaken, Bronwen, you and I already cut off our relationship in front of all everyone, right outside the hospital operating room.”
