It was only natural that a husband should hold his own wife as they slept. Anyone else, even his sister-in-law, had to step aside. Before long, Wiona drifted off mid-conversation. She had not slept this peacefully in a long time, slipping into dreams almost instantly.

Tatum let out a cold laugh. "Put you down? So you can wake up the entire estate?" He tightened his grip. "Maddy, my two little nephews just finished their milk and fell asleep. Wouldn't your conscience hurt if you woke them up?"

Everything inside was brand new. There were new decorations, a new bed, and even fresh bedding.
