Divorced the Cheat Married the Fleet (Camilla and Lance) novel Chapter 460

Jeniffer had already packed up most of their things.

After breakfast, the three of them headed straight to the airport.

The plane touched down in Cabinda, and they made their way back to The Charles Estate. The staff had returned to work, yet the massive house felt emptier and colder than before.

Carney had returned to his Taoist temple.

Oscar wasn't home either. It was just Leah keeping Darwin company as he soaked up the sun in the courtyard.

The warm sunlight washed over them, but it couldn't melt away the heavy gloom on their faces.

Camilla gave Jasper a gentle nudge. He sprinted forward and threw his arms around the old man. "Great-grandfather, we're home!"

Seeing Jasper, Darwin's face finally softened a bit. He opened his arms and hugged the boy tight. "You're back. Thank goodness you're back."

His gaze then shifted to Camilla. Before he could even ask, she quickly added, "Grandpa, I'm back too. And I'm not leaving."

A genuine smile finally graced Darwin's face, though it was quickly overshadowed by a lingering worry.

Camilla knew exactly what was eating at him—he was terrified for Lance and Tessa.

"Grandpa, I want to change Jasper's last name," Camilla said smoothly. "If you have some free time, could you take him to get the paperwork sorted out?"

She knew this had been Darwin's greatest wish from the start. It was the perfect way to distract him.

Darwin was thrilled and agreed immediately. He knew Camilla was doing this to cheer him up, but he didn't want to waste a single second. He immediately ordered a car to head to Laguna Shores to grab Jasper's identification documents.

Once Darwin was gone, Leah finally spoke up. "Did Lance really go?"

"He sure did!" Jeniffer huffed, clearly annoyed. "Aunt Tessa has never given a damn about Lance since he was a kid. And this time, she vanished because of Sarah. Yet the second Lance hears the news, he rushes straight into danger. I don't get how she can be so blind and never appreciate how good he is."

Leah sighed softly. "Those two just need a chance to clear the air. Maybe after this is all over, your aunt will finally wake up and see things clearly."

But that was assuming Lance could safely bring Tessa back.

Camilla had been holding it together perfectly during the trip. It wasn't until Jasper and Darwin left that she finally let her guard down. "What exactly is going on with Aunt Tessa? Why on earth is she in Silvania?"

If Tessa had vanished in Silvania alongside Sarah, that meant she had successfully met up with Sarah in Novaria.

She flew out there specifically to spend the holidays with Sarah. There was absolutely no reason for her to suddenly take off for Silvania.

Unless...

Camilla really didn't want to think the worst of people, but Sarah had already shown blatant malice and resentment toward Tessa. With Tessa completely wrapped around her finger, Camilla couldn't help but suspect this was all a trap orchestrated by Sarah.

After Jeniffer walked Leah out, she noticed Camilla was still staring blankly into space. "Camilla, what's wrong? Are you worried about Lance?" she asked cautiously.

"Do you know anything about Sarah's time abroad?" Camilla asked sharply. "Or more specifically... has she ever been to Silvania? Does she have any connections there?"

If Camilla's gut feeling was right and this was Sarah's setup, the only person Sarah would use Tessa as bait to lure in... was Lance.

Jeniffer shook her head. "I hate her, so I never bothered keeping tabs on her.

Wait, are you saying she's trying to get Aunt Tessa killed? Hold on, let me call my dad and have him run a background check."
