Divorced the Cheat Married the Fleet (Camilla and Lance) novel Chapter 472

He must have just overdosed from all the injections.

I begged him! I told him to just agree to whatever Sarah wanted so we could figure it out later, but he wouldn't listen! He brought this on himself!"

As she said this, Tessa genuinely felt like the victim.

Jeniffer's fists clenched so hard her knuckles turned white.

She slammed her fist into the wall right next to Tessa's head. "Are you completely insane?!

You know Lance is in love with Camilla! You literally watched Sarah torture him, and you still have the nerve to say it's his fault for not giving in to her?!

Lance is way too good to you. If it were me, I would have..."

Staring at Tessa's utterly oblivious face...

"I would have slapped you across the face," was the sentence Jeniffer barely managed to swallow.

"I was just trying to stop him from suffering!" Tessa wailed defensively. "He's my own flesh and blood, of course I was terrified for him!

I just wanted the pain to stop! Is that so wrong?!"

Seeing the two of them about to tear each other apart, the old man aggressively rubbed his temples. "Are you done?! Is now really the time for this?! Both of you, shut up!

Tessa, think carefully. Was there anything else out of the ordinary in Silvania?

Does Sarah know anyone powerful out there?"

The old man was fully prepared to execute a lethal sweep of their entire house, but before he destroyed Sarah, he needed to know exactly who was backing her.

He had to make sure that psychopath hadn't dragged the Charles family into the crosshairs of a cartel.

"I don't think so. Sarah was always so quiet. How could she possibly have connections to people like that?

She just hired some local mercenaries to abduct me, and she sourced the drugs herself," Tessa said, desperately trying to rationalize it.

Hearing how her subconscious was still desperately trying to defend Sarah, everyone in the hall exchanged disgusted looks. Even Oscar's face turned icy cold.

"It's not that simple," Oscar stated grimly. "I landed in Silvania before Lance did. I mobilized every single connection the Charles family has out there, and I still couldn't track you down.

If she had just hired some random thugs, there's absolutely no way she could have erased your tracks that thoroughly. She has serious backing."

"What? But Sarah has always been such a good girl. She's been living in Novaria this whole time. How could she be connected to a syndicate out there?" Tessa mumbled in total disbelief.

But at this point, absolutely no one had the patience to listen to her anymore.

Camilla found Tessa's entire existence utterly incomprehensible.

"Well, Oscar is the one who chose her. If he likes her, what can you do?" Jeniffer muttered.

Her utter disgust for her aunt had reached a boiling point, and she finally had the chance to unleash it.

The old man shot Jeniffer a sharp look but didn't argue.

Jeniffer kept going. "If Lance dies because of her, she is dead to me. I will never call her family again!"

The old man's eyes turned pitch black, his grip on his cane turning white-knuckled.

Forget Jeniffer.

If Lance didn't survive that table, he would personally drag Sarah out to the courtyard and put a bullet in her head.

Right now, he just prayed Tessa would snap out of her delusion and fall to her knees begging for forgiveness, before he was forced to tear their entire family apart.

Camilla was just as furious at Tessa, but this was the Charles family's internal war. Since she wasn't officially part of the family yet, she had no right to pull the trigger.

She sat on the hard plastic chair, her hands clenched in her lap, her eyes glued to the operating room doors in utter, agonizing silence.

Right at that terrifying second, the doors finally swung open. A surgeon walked out, his face utterly grim. Jeniffer was the first one to bolt toward him. "Doctor?! How is Lance?! Did you stabilize him?! Is there any permanent damage?!"

Camilla and the old man scrambled to their feet and rushed over, staring at the doctor in sheer, desperate terror.
