A wave of shyness hit Aubrey. Feeling nervous and not knowing what to do with her hands, she turned away. “Yes,” she mumbled.
She walked over to the nightstand and stared down at her phone. She swiped, then swiped again, aimlessly opening and closing
apps.
She was just clicking through things without thinking; she didn’t even know what was on the screen. Her entire focus was on the
man behind her.
Damon stepped closer and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Aubrey went rigid, her body tensing up instantly.
She was pulled flush against him, tucked perfectly into his embrace. His arms were powerful, and his chest felt broad and solid against her back. His body heat was rising fast as he leaned down, brushing his face against her cheek.
His hot breath hit the skin of her neck like a wave, sending shivers through her entire body. Her own breathing hitched.
Being held like this felt warm and safe–but it also felt incredibly provocative.
Their hearts were pounding in sync, thumping hard against her back and his chest.
Damon’s voice was a low, raspy growl against her ear. “Bree, there’s so much I want to say to you.”
Yeah?” Her throat felt tight with nerves.
His voice softened even more. “But first, I just want to apologize. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Bree.”
What for?”
For misunderstanding you.”
It’s okay. I’m at fault, too. I didn’t explain things well enough.”
What you told my dad… how much of it was real?” He closed his eyes and buried his face in the crook of her neck, his lips brushing he skin behind her ear. “Do you really love me?”
Yeah.”
How much?”
I don’t know. Enough that I never want to lose you… and enough that I actually want to sleep with you. That much.”
Damon gave a soft laugh. He cupped her cheek, turning her head back toward him before leaning in to claim her lips.
Aubrey closed her eyes, completely losing herself in his deep kiss.
Inder the dim, amber glow of the lights, the air grew thick and heavy. In the silence of the night, the spark between them finally aught fire.
Jamon turned her around and cupped her face in his hands. He kissed her, his rhythm shifting between deep, hungry presses and oft, lingering grazes. He was devouring her and savoring her at the same time–his touch a mix of gentle protection and raw
nvasion.
le was a damn good kisser. Aubrey could barely handle it. She clung to him, her legs turning to jelly as her mind went hazy.
le lingered against her lips, his voice a low murmur vibrating in his throat. “Bree… I love you…”
Mmm,” she managed, the sound barely escaping her throat.
I love you so much…”
Mhm…

He fought for control, his voice low and coaxing. “Say it. Tell me you love me too.”

“Huh? Aubrey’s mind was a blank. Her body felt hollow, aching for more, and she could barely process his words. She was completely lost, drowning in the heat of his kisses.
He kissed her earlobe, his breath hot against her skin as he pressed for an answer. “Bree… say you love me. Please?”
She didn’t say a word. Instead, she bit her lip, a soft, breathless moan escaping her throat as her nails dug deep into his shoulders.
Damon’s legendary self–control finally snapped. He grabbed her waist and hiked her up, spreading her legs wide as he pulled her onto the massive bed.
He sat on the bed, and Aubrey straddled his lap.
He kept kissing her, holding her tight as they both slowly leaned back onto the mattress.
He wanted to hear those three little words more than anything. Even if they were a lie, he craved them.
But all night long, Aubrey never let them slip.
So he took what he wanted. He poured all his longing and lust into her, finding satisfaction in every touch, every gasp.
The version of Aubrey with amnesia was still a little shy, but that only fueled his fire.
The next morning.
Soft winter sunlight peeked through the gap in the curtains, cutting through the hazy atmosphere of the room.
Aubrey blinked her eyes open.
Her entire body felt heavy and drained, a lingering ache settled deep in her inner thighs.
She glanced at the other side of the bed. It was empty. Damon was already gone for work.
He’d spent the whole night working her over and barely got any sleep. How did he still have the energy for a job?
t made no sense.
She rubbed her eyes and rolled over, pulling the duvet tight. She buried her burning face in the warmth of the sheets.
A few days ago at her parents‘ place–their first time after she lost her memory–he had been so gentle. Reserved. Restrained.
she’d actually thought that was just the kind of man he was.
she hadn’t realized he was only holding back because Tracy was in the room next door.
Now that they were in their own home, he didn’t hold back at all. He wasn’t restrained anymore, creating a sharp contrast to his
isual gentle, gentlemanly image.
ast night could only be described as wild, primal, and electric.
Aubrey replayed the scenes in her head, her face burning hotter with every memory.
The man was seriously addictive.
In daily life, he was soft and attentive, a man of high character and integrity.
In private, he was sweet and clingy.
But in bed…
He was a force of nature. Just thinking about it made her lose her breath.
She was convinced he’d secretly taken some kind of masterclass on sex.

Tangled in the duvet, she rolled across the bed. Her messy hair fell over her face as she stared up at the ceiling, letting out a long, shaky breath.
She couldn’t help but think that even if he didn’t have the money, the looks, or the charm, his “natural gifts” and insane skills alone would keep a woman satisfied for a lifetime.
How many women would be throwing themselves at him if they knew? Thank God it was a secret. No one knew what he was capable of but her.
