Chapter 139
Scarlett
The next morning, I couldn’t face Viktor.
I stayed hidden in my apartment the entire day, refusing to step out even for groceries. Every time I thought about last night-his mouth between my legs, the way he gripped my hair, the filthy things he said while I sucked him- my face burned with embarrassment. I was so shy, so nervous, and honestly a little ashamed.
But regret? Hell no.
If anything, I craved more. This was the first time in a long time that I actually wanted sex to continue. Viktor had made me feel things I didn’t know I could feel. He made sex feel… worth it. Really worth it. I kept wondering how a shy nerd like him/ could be so good with his tongue and fingers. Was he even a virgin? He didn’t seem like it.
Then I remembered the girl who sometimes visited his place. Maybe they were just friends? Or maybe not. The thought made
my stomach twist a little, but I pushed it away.
By afternoon, I decided I had a perfect excuse to see him. Last night I had brought him ramyeon and left my plates and utensils behind. I could just go collect them. Simple, Casual.
I spent way too much time getting ready – applying light makeup, brushing my hair until it shone, choosing a cute but comfortable outfit. I stared at myself in the mirror and shook my head. Why am I even doing all this?
Taking a deep breath, I left my apartment and walked to his door. I knocked softly
I expected to hear his voice asking “Who is it?” so I could reply “It’s me, Scarlett,” and then he’d say “Come in.”
Instead, a different voice answered – a bright, girly one.
“I’m coming!”
My stomach dropped. What?
The door opened and there she was
the same girl I’d seen with Viktor before. She looked fresh and pretty, standing in the doorway with the door half-closed behind her back like she was guarding the space.
We stared at each other in awkward silence.
Damn.
I needed to check on Viktor, but with this girl blocking the way, I wasn’t sure how to do it without looking suspicious.
The girl finally broke the silence, tilting her head. “So how may I help you?”
“Uh..” I stammered, “Is Viktor home?”
She closed the door a little more firmly behind her. “Why? Is there a problem?”
“I’m his neighbor,” I explained quickly, trying to sound harmless. “I just came to collect my plates from last night”
“I know you’re his neighbor,” she said, her brows knitting together slightly, “Why do you want to see him??
Her tone wasn’t exactly hostile, but it was definitely protective. The way she stood there, half-blocking the entrance, made j dear she wasn’t going to let me in easily.
I swallowed, suddenly feeling very aware of the light makeup I’d put on and how ridges this whole situation was

Chapter 139
“You know what? I’m just going to come back,” I said quickly, already turning on my heel to leave.
“When?” the girl asked, her voice sharp and insistent.

“Later,” I muttered without looking back, my cheeks still burning from the embarrassment of the whole situation
“You’re going to come back when I leave?” she pressed, the question laced with something that sounded almost like suspicion.
I halted mid-step, my brows drawing down in irritation. The audacity of her tone made me stop completely. Slowly, I turned around to face her again.
She stood there in the doorway, arms folded tightly across her chest, deliberately pushing up her already large breasts so her cleavage spilled generously over the neckline of her top. She looked effortlessly beautiful – smooth skin, bright eyes, and that fresh, youthful glow that screamed early twenties. I was thirty-three, and standing in front of her made me feel every single one of those years like a weight on my shoulders.
The girl tilted her head slightly, her expression calm but firm. “It’s better you say what you want, because I don’t think I’ll be leaving anytime soon.”
I let out a heavy sigh, the sound escaping before I could stop it. Why was this so complicated? Last night I had been on Viktor’s bed, his head between my legs, his fingers and tongue making me fall apart. And now here I was, standing in the hallway like some awkward intruder while this younger, prettier girl guarded his door like it was her territory.
Maybe I should just accept reality. There was no way anything real could happen between Viktor and me. We were too different he was young, brilliant, wealthy, and clearly had girls like this one coming over. I was older, drowning in debt. working a secret double life, and barely holding myself together. Why did I ever let myself think I had even the slightest, tiniest chance with him? It was stupid. Pathetic, even.
I turned back fully toward her and forced my voice to stay steady. “I gave him some food last night. I was wondering if I could collect the plates now.”
“Food?” She raised one perfectly shaped eyebrow. “Why would you give him food?”
Before I could even open my mouth to explain, she fired another question, her tone growing sharper. “Are you guys close ar what?”
I rubbed my forehead, feeling the start of a headache blooming behind my eyes. This conversation was draining me faster than I expected. “He was sick last night and too tired to prepare anything, so I thought of bringing some of mine over to him. That’s all.”
“I see,” she nodded slowly, though her eyes narrowed slightly, like she was trying to read between the lines. Then she cocked her head to the side, studying me for a moment longer. “Wait here. I’ll bring them out.”
She cracked the door open just enough to slip inside, carefully keeping the gap small so I couldn’t see anything beyond her back. It was almost comical-like she was protecting some big secret. I scoffed quietly under my breath. Why is she acting like I’ve never been inside before? I had literally been in there last night, on his bed, moaning his name while he ate me out like he was starving. And now she was treating me like some randorn stranger who might steal something.
I rolled my eyes and waited in the hallway, arms crossed over my chest, tapping my foot impatiently against the floor. The plates weren’t even that important. I could have easily replaced them. But I had used them as an excuse to see Viktor again, to check if he was really feeling better after the fever. Now I felt foolish for bothering
A few moments later, the door opened again – still only a small crack-and the girl extended her arin, handing the the clean plates and utensils without inviting me inside or even stepping fully into view.
“Here” she said, her voice polite but clearly dismissive, like she couldn’t wait for me to disappear
I took them from her hands, the ceramic feeling oddly heavy “Thanks

Chapter 139
She gave me one last long, appraising look, then stepped back and closed the door firmly in my face with a soft click
I stood there for several seconds, staring at the closed door, a strange mix of irritation, jealousy, and self-doubt swirling in my chest. My fingers tightened around the plates until my knuckles turned white.
Why does this bother me so much?
Shaking my head, I turned and walked back to my own apartment, the hallway suddenly feeling longer and colder than usual.
