Chapter 125
Boom!
A massive explosion rocked the street.
Dust and debris filled the air.
The rest of the team closed ranks, weapons out and ready for anything.
As the dust settled, the view cleared. Everyone froze, gasping at what they saw.
At least dozens of Tier–2 Undead were standing right there.
Their faces were blank and lifeless, but they moved with a weird, synchronized focus. It was obvious–they were being puppeted by something stronger.
Which meant only one thing.
A Tier–3 Undead had arrived.
Josie’s pupils snapped shut.
She dialed her intensity to the max, channeling the cold, killer instinct from her past life.
She gripped her sword with both hands.
Ready to strike.
“Josie!” an eerie, hollow voice echoed from all directions. “Show me. Let’s see how much you’ve actually grown.”
Before the voice even faded, the Tier–2s ignored everyone else. They swarmed, bolting straight for Josie.
Zane threw up his hand, blasting a wave of lightning to draw some of the heat off her.
Josie stopped him. “Stay back. I want to see if I’ve finally hit my breakthrough. This fight is mine alone.”
The words barely left her lips before she charged, dragging her greatsword behind her.
The blade whirled, a lethal shield of steel.
No edge needed.
Pure, brutal efficiency.
One
sweep, a dozen kills.
Crushing Zenith.
She kicked the hilt, using the momentum to pivot.
She caught their force and threw it right back..
A full–speed cyclone of death.
That sword weighed nearly a hundred pounds. A norm wouldn’t even be able to lift it, let alone swing it.
But in Josie’s grip, it moved like an extension of her own body.

They were all Tier–2, and Josie wasn’t even using her superpowers yet. Still, she was dropping Tier–2 Undead with every single strike.
It was a bloodbath. She carved through them like they were nothing, leaving a trail of shredded corpses in her wake.
As the last one fell, Josie’s gaze snapped toward the roof of a skyscraper fifty yards away.
A figure stood there.
If she was right, that was a Tier–3 Undead. A rare one–a psychic.
“Clap. Clap. Clap.” The creature actually applauded. “Impressive. Taking out that many Tier–2s with pure physical strength? No
Beautiful.”
“You really didn’t disappoint me. But honestly? It’s still not enough.”
“Who are you?” Josie’s eyes narrowed, locking onto him. “How do you know me?”
powers
“Josie, this world will eventually become a war between you and me. I’m waiting for you to get on my level.” The Alpha flashed a twisted grin. “We’ve got plenty of time.”
He flickered and vanished. Just like that, he was gone.
Josie instinctively lunged after him for two steps before forcing herself to stop.
If she had 100% of her power from her past life, she might’ve stood a chance.
But right now, she was only at sixty percent. And he was a Psychic–a high–level mind–controller.
She wasn’t sure she could take him yet.
He’d been watching her. The thought made her chest tighten.
Danger was screaming in her head.
Being hunted by an Alpha was never a good thing.
But she wasn’t backing down.
He wanted a war? Fine. She’d give him one.
The Blue Owl Squad had watched the whole thing from the sidelines. They were dead silent.
Josie’s raw power had completely floored them.
Who knew fighting without superpowers could look this badass?
Josie sheathed her greatsword and turned to the Blue Owl Squad. “Guns are effective in the early stages,” she told them. “But as you’ve seen, the undead are evolving. They’re getting faster, tougher, and more resilient. Soon, firearms won’t do a damn thing.”
“In the end, it’ll come down to superpowers and cold steel. And when it comes to blades, naturally forged weapons are the gold
standard.”
“The more primitive the forging process, the more damage it deals to high–rank undead.”
Josie’s expression turned grim. “We need to rank up, and we need to do it now. You saw it for yourselves–Tier–3s are already out there.
