Chapter 181
These Tier–3 Undead weren’t mindless; they actually had brains. They knew how to dodge and how to use the Elemental Cycle to pick opponents they could easily counter,
Josie didn’t give them a second to think. She stayed one step ahead, flipping between her Plant–type and Metallic powers on the fly.
She played both elements like a pro, weaving them together into a deadly dance.
The moment her Willpower ran dry, she yanked her greatsword out of her spatial storage. It was time for a bloodbath.
Clang Clang! Clang!
She swung the massive blade with raw, brutal force. Everywhere the edge hit, limbs flew and heads rolled.
It wasn’t just Josie, either. The rest of the Blue Owl Squad was right there with her.
As soon as their powers hit zero, they switched to cold steel without missing a beat.
They’d come prepared for a meat grinder.
Everyone used whatever weapon felt most natural in their hands.
Swords and daggers were common, but some rocked bows or even iron whips.
Every single one of them fought with the same mindset: win or die.
The Tier–3 Supers from the base got swept up in the energy. They’d started out cautious, just testing the waters, but the adrenaline hit them hard. Their blood started boiling, and before they knew it, they were roaring and diving headfirst into the slaughter.
Bottom line: if you fought with Josie, you didn’t stay calm. Her energy was infectious, like she’d pumped pure adrenaline straight into everyone’s veins. But damn, did it work. The efficiency was off the charts.
Combat is the ultimate level–up.
It’s the fastest way to grind your powers and force an evolution.
An hour in, Josie was dual–wielding elements. Metallic in her left hand, Plant–type in her right.
She was raining down metal blades with one hand and whipping out lethal vines with the other.
It was a total slaughterfest. Pure, raw power.
The Blue Owl Squad caught the vibe. Seeing Josie go off triggered something in them, and everyone started punching way above their weight class.
Tier–1 and Tier–2 Supers were popping levels left and right.
Especially the dozen rookies who’d just awakened during the storm–they all slammed into Tier–2 during the heat of battle. Two of them even skipped a step and hit Tier–3 instantly.
Seeing that kind of growth, the Supers watching from the sidelines back at the base were sick to their stomachs.
If they had just followed Josie into the fray, they could’ve been the ones leveling up.
Now they wanted in? Too bad. That ship had sailed.
The Tier–3 horde was toast. Josie and the Blue Owl Squad had practically wiped them off the map.
We’re talking over a thousand Tier–3 Undead.
And a few dozen people had just… erased them.
Josie’s vines snapped the neck of the last Tier–3. She tilted her head to the side. “Pyros, get over here and torch the heads. Aquatics, you’re on core duty. Good work today, everyone.”
“Tonight, we’re splitting the loot. Everyone gets an equal share.*
“Copy that!” The Pyro and Aquatic Supers stepped up immediately. One team burned the remains, while the other washed the grime off the cores.

I what… how…“. The crowd was losing it. They couldn’t even get the words out.
“Miss Josie, that…” a Tier–3 Aquatic Super finally stammered. “Is that your pet?”
“Oh, yeah,” Josie said, nodding like it was the most natural thing in the world. “He’s my pet. A mutant plant. I’m a Plant–type Super, remember? It only makes sense to have a plant as a pet.”
The other Plant–type Supers in the group all hung their heads.
They felt like total losers.
They had the same power, but they could barely even communicate with mutant flora, let alone tame one.
The gap between them and her was just insane.
“Mutant flora are dangerous, Miss Josie,” someone muttered under their breath. “Aren’t you worried it’ll turn on us and hit our own people?”
“We’re not worried!” the Blue Owl guys snapped before Josie could even open her mouth. “It’s not like it’s sleeping in your tent. Mind your own damn business. We live with it every day and you don’t hear us complaining. Who asked you?”
Josie smirked.
Good. Very good.
The Blue Owl Squad was really growing on her.
While they were arguing, Lirio finished its meal. It had stripped every undead corpse in sight clean.
A massive mountain of white bones was piled high beneath its roots.
It was a terrifying, bone–chilling sight.
The culprit behind the carnage let out a loud, satisfied burp. After finishing the feast, it started hopping back toward Josie.
With every bounce, it shrank.
By the time it reached her side, it was only the size of her palm.
Under everyone’s stunned gaze, it scrambled up Josie’s leg and climbed all the way to the top of her head. With a quick shimmer, it turned back into a little green flower, tucked neatly into her ponytail.
Its petals gave a tiny, innocent quiver.
