Cyrus’s eyes crinkled. He actually smiled.
After that little encounter, the road ahead was completely clear. Not a single Undead jumped them.
The path was empty.
It was so clean, it was actually terrifying.
The convoy pulled up to the logistics hub. Josie spoke up, her voice clear. “I’m going in to clear the supplies first. You guys sweep the area and make sure nothing was missed. I made a deal with the Alpha–the Undead here won’t touch you for a week. Use this time to scavenge the surrounding blocks. Whatever you find is yours to keep. This isn’t part of the base’s cut!”
The crowd erupted into cheers. At this point, they were practically worshiping the ground she walked on.
Negotiating with an Alpha and actually getting results? So far, Josie was the only person on the planet who could pull that off.
‘But don’t get cocky,” she warned. “Stay close. Don’t wander too far. He’s only a Tier–4, so he only controls this sector, not the whole city. There might be some rebel Tier–3s looking to pick a fight with him.”
‘So, if you’re going out on a Wild Hunt, watch your six!”
‘And keep track of the time. You have exactly one week. Factor in your return trip.”
In seven days, we head back. If you’re late, you’re on your own. We aren’t waiting for anyone!”
That’s it. Dismissed!”
Josie waved them off and turned to head inside to start collecting the loot.
Her back looked effortlessly cool and badass.
une stood in the middle of the crowd, biting her lip until it bled. She couldn’t stand it.
She didn’t let the bitterness show for long, quickly masking her expression.
if she couldn’t outdo Josie yet, she might as well ride her coattails. She’d use Josie’s momentum to level herself up first.
Time to scavenge.
How big was this logistics hub?
Massive didn’t even cover it.
i took Josie three full days just to clear out the warehouses, navigating through the cluttered mess of the facility.
By the end, she was numb.
There was just so much–way too much–stuff.
Once the logistics hub was picked clean, it was on to the factory district.
Luckily, the Blue Owl Squad hadn’t been sitting around while she worked. They’d already hauled the factory supplies out and waged them in the open yard.
Everything was sorted, stacked, and organized perfectly.
All Josie had to do was walk through and sweep it all into her storage.
The week flew by in a blur.
Is everyone here?” Josie asked.
The team looked around at each other, then shook their heads in unison

Josie’s brow furrowed. “I was clear,” she said, her voice cold. “If you aren’t back by the deadline, you’re on your own. We aren’t holding up the entire group for one person.”
“She has no sense of time. Why should we have to pay for her being a flake?”
