Seeing his little game get blown wide open, Arthur didn’t even try to pivot. He just collapsed, his knees hitting the floor with a heavy thud. “Josie, I was wrong! I know I messed up, I really do! Please, you have to forgive your father!”

“And what act is this supposed to be?” Josie asked, a cold smirk playing on her lips. “Start talking, you old fossil. If you don’t give me the

full story, I’m not going anywhere.”

Arthur flinched, an involuntary shiver running down his spine.

He was terrified of her. Truly, deeply terrified.

But he had no choice. He had to crawl back to her.

Because, more than anything else, he didn’t want to die.

“You already know about the Haven City mob coming for us, don’t you?” Arthur said. “Word is they’re bringing heavy artillery. These

walls can stop the Undead and the Mutant Flora, but they won’t stand a chance against cannons!”
