Chapter 258
The leader stared at the lone fortress sitting on Mount Quinn, a cold sneer spreading across his face.
“The main base and this bitch are tossing us around like hot potatoes,” he spat. “If we play along and crawl back there, we’re total sackers.”
“The city base? That’s a tough play. The walls are too high and they’ve got too many people.”
“But here? It’s a different story. How much can one girl really do?”
“She’s just hiding behind some fancy guns.”
“Those big missiles are only good for long–range. We get in close, and she can’t use them without blowing herself to hell right along with “She’s trapped. She won’t dare use the heavy stuff now:”
“That first wave only lost because they were shorthanded and ran out of ammo.”
“The bitch just got lucky.”
“But look at us. We’re nearly two hundred thousand strong. Everyone–move out!”
“We’ll drown her in a sea of bodies!”
“That little castle might not be as fancy as the main base, but it’s got its perks. Now that our numbers are down, it the p

“Once the smoke clears, the dead weight will be gone anyway. There’ll be more than enough room for the brothers “Think about all those guns they have. These bastards must have hit the jackpot and hoarded a ton of gear before the world went to hell!” “The big bases bought shells from them. You know they paid a fortune in food and supplies.”
“We take this place, and everything they have is ours. We’ll be living like kings!”
The leader’s words hit home. Everyone else started nodding, greed lighting up their eyes.
They were sick of the road. They were tired of running and didn’t want to scavenge for scraps anymore.
If they couldn’t crack a major base, this mini–fortress would do just fine.
“No more talk, then. It’s settled!” The leader’s eyes turned cold and vicious. “Push those useless scraps to the front. Let them soak up the bullet first!”
“You got it, boss!”
They turned back toward Quinshaw Base, their eyes glowing with animal hunger.
Josie watched the monitors as they started to fan out, slowly closing in on her position. She let out a cold, sharp laugh. “Oh? So they’ve chosen death. Fine by me. If they want to play dirty, I’ll show them what ‘unfair really looks like.”
“Zane, take them out,” Josie said, her voice like ice. “No one defies me and lives.”
“Copy that.” Zane didn’t waste a second. He pulled the trigger, and a bullet tore straight through the skull of the advisor standing right next to the leader.
Hot, sticky blood sprayed everywhere, coating the leader’s face in a thick, red mist.
The leader watched his right–hand man die right in front of him. He didn’t flinch. Instead, his eyes went wild with rage. He bared his teeth and roared, “Keep moving! All of you! Anyone who takes a step back gets a bullet in the head!”
More and more of them were herded forward like sheep, swarming toward Quinshaw Base in a mindless wave.
“Three, two, one! Blow it!”
Zane gave the word. In an instant, the ground swallowed them. Dozens of people crashed into the hidden pits. Mines popped. Trip–wire crossbows hissed. Rusty spikes tore through flesh. The traps showed zero mercy. The air instantly filled with a chorus of agonizing screams.
It was a total bloodbath.
If they had just turned around and left, Josie wouldn’t have wiped them out.
But they were too damn greedy.
Even with bodies piling up, their greed didn’t waver.
Those in the back just trampled over the corpses of their own people, pushing forward like animals.
Through the drone feed, she could see it clearly–their eyes were bloodshot. They had completely lost their minds.
The moment they were in range, Josie slowly raised both hands.

In a flash, tens of thousands of golden mini–swords and silver daggers shot into the sky, hovering in the air.
Modern weapons are great and all, but in close–quarters combat? Superpowers rule. Period.
When it comes to instant kills and wiping out crowds, Metallic power is king No contest
“Drop dead!” Josie snapped. She swung her arms down hard. Tens of thousands of tiny blades and knives screamed through the a, diving, mar the mass of people.
