Chapter 311

Sweet and heavy?

Josie’s mind raced. “Nuclear fuel?”

This was the Nuclear Research Center.

If there was one thing they had plenty of, it was radioactive material. Pure, raw energy.

Josie felt a surge of adrenaline. “Lead the way!”

Ivy pointed the way again, guiding Josie to a small door hidden in a far corner.

This door was a whole different beast.

It was built like a vault, reinforced with layer after layer of protection.

And it was made of lead.

It was obvious-this was built to block serious radiation.

Luckily for her, lead was still metal.

Josie’s metal ability allowed her to command every ounce of metal in existence.

She tapped into her power, and with a thought, the lead door began to liquefy. It softened, then melted away like wax under a blowtorch.

Before stepping through, Josie pulled a hazmat suit out of her space and suited up. She wasn’t taking any chances. Then, she cautiously pushed the door open.

She cleared three more security doors before finally hitting the massive main vault.

When she looked up, she froze. She couldn’t help but gasp.

Holy shit.

She had never seen this much raw material in her entire life.

Countless nuclear materials were stacked on heavy-duty shelves, organized perfectly by type.

Every single one was labeled.

Each individual container wasn’t huge, but the total value? Freaking priceless.

Not wanting to overstay her welcome, Josie didn’t hesitate. She threw her hand out, and the massive haul of nuclear materials vanished into her space, piling up in a dedicated corner.

It took her ten full minutes just to sweep the entire warehouse clean. That alone told her exactly how much loot she’d just scored! Josie finally let out a long breath.

No warheads, but the raw materials were a massive win. She’d take it.

She wasn’t sticking around to celebrate. With the loot secured, she grabbed Ivy and moved out.

Josie double-checked the area one last time. Nothing left. She reset the heavy doors to their original state and vanished.

To cover her tracks, she pulled the rubble and broken bricks back out of her space, dumping them exactly where they had been.

From the outside, it looked untouched. Like no one had been there in years.

Cyrus. “Sir,” the creature rasped. “Our intel is solid. This is it-the

Not even thirty minutes after she left, a Tier-4 undead bowed low before Cy Nuclear Research Center.”

“Good.” Cyrus stood atop the pile of ruins, his eyes scanning the area. “Any humans been through here?”

“None! The closest ones are over half a mile away,” the Tier-4 replied. “Besides, this place is a total wreck. There’s nothing left to scavenge, so everyone stays clear.”

Cyrus smiled, satisfied.

He flicked his wrist, and a wave of power slammed into the debris, sweeping the bricks and dust aside like they were nothing.

The ground underneath was instantly cleared, neat and bare.

Cyrus was about to step forward when his instincts flared. A cold chill ran down his spine.

Something was off.

He scanned the ruins, but Josie was nowhere to be seen.

“Guard the perimeter,” Cyrus ordered the Tier-4 Undead. “If Josie shows up, stop her. Don’t let her through.”
