“Good. I’ll do my best to help.

“By the way, I have one more request, the Base Commander added. “I’ve heard you have a spatial storage filled with supplies you be willing to set up a temporary market here? We aren’t short on Cores, but we are desperate for supplies. You can set whanics we can afford it, we’ll buy it.”

“Open a market? I suppose I could do that.” Josie thought about the supplies in her space. She truly had a ridiculous amount

Even if she fed her entire team for thousands of years, they wouldn finish it all. Trading some for Cores wasn’t a bad idea.

Besides, she actually liked the people of the Newport City Sanctuary. If Albert Jansen back in Fort City had made this request, she would have ig him. But the man in front of her was genuinely trying to provide for his citizens and keep the spark of humanky alive.

Helping him wouldn’t hurt.

“Fine. Give me two days to prepare,” Josie said. “I won’t be staying here much longer, so if anyone wants to trade, tell them to be quick. Once I find target, I’m leaving.”

“Deal!” the Base Commander agreed instantly.

Josie returned to her quarters and waited, but the messenger who claimed to have seen Sean Voss never showed

She didn’t know where he had gone. As long as he wasn’t dead, he’d eventually come back-the reward she had offered was too high to ignore. Since she couldn’t find him yet, she decided to get the market ready.

Josie gathered the members of the Blue Owl Squad and explained her plan. “The people here are living a very hard life. The people at the Fort City Base were ungrateful, so we aren’t concerned with whether they live or die. But I’ve met the Base Commander here, and he’s a good man. He’s got his own interests, sure, but he’s dedicated to his people.”

“He asked to trade for supplies using Cores. I agreed.”

“We’ll run a market here for five days. For the next few days, don’t go out on missions. You’ll be in charge of maintaining order and handling the trades.” “Got it, Josie,” Hudson Knox replied. “What are we selling?”

“Just the essentials,” Josie said after a moment’s thought. “They’re probably short on everything, but we can’t take on the whole world’s problems. For now, we’ll stick to grain, seeds, clothing, bedding, and some basic medicine.”

“Understood!” the squad answered in unison.

After setting the list, Josie returned to her room and began sorting through her

space.

There was simply too much stuff.

Lately, she hadn’t had many chances to take things out; she mostly just keps stuffing things in. Finding specific items was becoming a chore because the space was now gargantuan.

Mountains of supplies were piled everywhere.

Fortunately, the hoard originally collected by June Quinn and that unlucky rich heir, had been organized neatly

Josie simply picked the appropriate items from their piles to use as inventory.

The sorting process took two full days.

The base provided her with a large, open area and gave her permission to set up however she liked. They were so desperate to get their hands on her stock that they gave her the widest, most accessible lot available.

Josie and her team used metal manipulation to forge a massive frame around the site.

She manifested one shelf after another using her powers and lined them with supplies.

There were premium grains like rice and white flour, as well as coarse grains like corn, beans, and various cereals.
