Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 389

Chapter 389.

The day of the official departure arrived.

As everyone climbed into the vehicles, they all turned back to look at the place they had called home for the past year. Although it hadn’t been a long time, they had experienced so much here.

It would be a lie to say they weren’t emotional.

But the time had come where they had no choice but to leave. They were leaving, rever to return.

Josie Quinn pulled a phone from her spatial storage and looked at the group. “Come on, everyone. Let’s take a photo. Something to prove we lived here

once.”

The others immediately lined up. Josie took individual photos of them before finishing with a large group shot. Once the photos were taken, she tossed the phone back into her spatial storage. Everyone climbed into the cars at once and drove away, never looking back.

To gain, one must let go.

Though the road ahead was uncertain, life was still full of expectations.

“Move out!” Josie ordered.

The convoy began its slow advance. Behind them, Quinshaw Base grew smaller and smaller.

Josie sat in the passenger seat, watching the base in the rearview mirror until it became a tiny black speck and finally vanished. Only then did she looked

away.

This life was completely different from her previous one. Not just her life path, but the timeline itself had shifted. Whatever the future held, she would have to figure it out all over again.

But what did it matter?

Her reliance had never been on her knowledge of the future or her past advantages. It was her refusal to ever admit defeat. As long as she grew strong enough, she would be fearless no matter how the world changed!

“They really left?” Tate Jansen asked, his voice full of disbelief. “They didn’t pull any stunts?”

“No.” June Quinn lowered her binoculars. A Super with enhanced vision stood beside her, confirming that Josie’s convoy had truly left Fort City. “That’s fantastic! Hahahaha!” Tate laughed triumphantly. “I thought Josie was just throwing up a smokescreen. I thought she didn’t want to leave and was just trying to stall us to throw us off.”

“I even thought she’d wait until we weren’t looking to sneak into our base and cause trouble. She has a spatial ability-what couldn’t she steal

“I didn’t expect her to just up and leave so decisively. I have to admit, I’m impressed!”

Tate’s words made June’s heart skip a beat.

*Right.*

Was Josie really the type of person to take the loss lying down? Given her personality, if she suffered a major loss, she would definitely find a way to ger

even.

Yet this time, she had simply swallowed the base s framing and slander. She hadn’t fought back, hadn’t caused trouble for the base, and hadn’t come over for one last vengeful showdown.

Why did it feel like Josie wasn’t driven away by them, but that she “wanted to leave Fort City herself? She had left in such a hurry, as it so were desperately fleeing something.

*No, no,

I must be overthinking it!*
