Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 403

Chapter 403.

“So you’re saying that the one truly in control of Quartz City right now isn’t the Undead or the humans, but the Mutant Flora?” Josie Quinn asked.

“Pretty much.” Kira Sinclair nodded. There are just too many plants in this area!”

Josie understood.

She reached up and tapped the small flower that Lirio had transformed into on her head. Lirio, understanding exactly what she wanted, gave a little hop, bounced down to the floor, and took a flying leap right out the bus window.

“Ah… what… what is that?” Kira’s eyes nearly bulged out of her head. She could barely get the words out.

“My contracted plant, Lirio,” Josie explained. “He’s Mutant Flora, but he’s a teammate!”

Kira was utterly floored.

Josie was too incredible. Her own strength was already terrifying, and she had actually contracted a mutant plant as well? It was no wonder she had the confidence to lead so many people across the country to Sierra City!

Josie didn’t elaborate further, and Kira was smart enough not to pry. Josie carried herself with the undeniable aura of a true powerhouse. And any powerhouse of her caliber was bound to have a few secrets.

After a while, Lirio returned.

“Baring its fangs? What kind of description is that?” Josie pinched one of Lirio’s leaves. “Be specific.”

“The powerful Undead in this city have nearly all been eaten by the Mutant Flora,” Lirio reported. “The one in charge is a century-old Virginia creeper. He has a refined palate-he specifically loves eating high-tier Undead and high-tier Supers. He looks down on the ordinary ones and won’t even touch

them.”

Josie smirked. “A picky eater, huh?”

“Yeah, and he’s incredibly sneaky. He specializes in ambushes and hiding himself so that the Undead and Supers can’t detect him. He waits until they walk right into his trap before closing the net,” Lirio said.
