“No comment ” Josie arched an eyebrow. “I don’t think we’re the kind of human and Undead who share secrets.”

Cyrus smiled.

It was a devastatingly charming smile. Unfortunately, he was standing in front of a woman who was socially dense and completely oblivious to his charms.

“Then what about the areas affected by this quake? Can you tell me that much?” Cyrus asked. “If we can’t escape the impact zone in time, maybe we can keep cooperating. I can help you save that group of useless humans,”

Cyrus tilted his chin slightly, glancing toward the group of elderly and weak survivors.

Josie followed his gaze.

True, there were a lot of elderly people in her convoy. If the earthquake hit–and a world–ending catastrophe of this magnitude definitely would even the Blue Owl Squad, with all their skill, wouldn’t be able to save everyone.

These seniors might be old, but they were living repositories of knowledge. They were indispensable. To rebuild human society in the future, they couldn’t afford to lose these walking encyclopedías.

“Based on our projections, Sierra City is a relatively safe place. That’s our next destination.”

“Plus, the terrain there is varied–rugged enough to defend and open enough to strike.”

“Sierra City.” Cyrus raised an eyebrow. “You certainly know how to pick a spot.”

“Oh? What does that mean?” Josie countered. “How much do you know about Sierra City?”

“That last nuclear warhead was found near Sierra City,” Cyrus said, his lips curling into a smirk. “Unfortunately, there was only one.”

This time, it was Josie’s turn to arch an eyebrow. “And?”

“And nothing. It’s just a coincidence,” Cyrus said. “The situation in Sierra City is far more complex than in Fort City. But it doesn’t matter. With your current strength, you can handle whatever comes your way. However, you need to hurry up and level up. I have a strange sense of crisis that I can’t quite put into words.”

“What a coincidence. Me too,” Josie said, her brow furrowing. “Ever since I hit Tier–6, I’ve had this nagging premonition that something big is about to happen. At first, I thought it was just the Great Quake and the Megatsunami, but now it seems like it’s something else.”
