Chapter 446.
It wasn’t that they were cold–blooded.
It was just the reality of the situation. Different species, different rules. Besides, there wasn’t much they could do to stop him.
Conversely, if a massive horde of Undead appeared, Cyrus would intentionally slow his pace, allowing Josie and her team to move in
and harvest the cores for their leveling.
Even though they were all Undead, territories were territories, after all.
In short, the two groups developed a surprising level of unspoken cooperation. Their speed of travel increased significantly.

Meanwhile, the remnants of the Fort City Base–the remaining twenty thousand or so people–had been hit hard. After surviving the Undead tide Julian had funneled toward them, their numbers had dwindled to fewer than twenty thousand.
Fortunately, the Undead Julian had herded their way weren’t very high–tier; otherwise, the casualties would have been far worse.
Two days after Josie’s group had moved on, June Quinn and her party finally reached the broken bridge.
When they saw the collapsed structure before them, everyone was stunned.
“How are we supposed to get across?” Tate Jansen asked, instinctively looking at June.
June inspected the ground, noting the marks left behind. “They used iron cables to cross. After they were over, they retracted the chains. Look at these indentations–those are the marks from the anchors.”
June was indeed a formidable leading lady in her own right. She saw the truth of the situation immediately.
This was the second time Josie had sabotaged them.
And she had to admit, the trick had worked perfectly,
June grit her teeth. “When we reach our destination, I’m going to settle this score with Josie once and for all!”
“What do we do now?” Tate asked, looking completely lost.
“We do exactly what Josie did–build a chain bridge,” June said, “What other choice do we have? A detour would take too much time!”
“Even if we can have our Metallic Supers forge the chains, who’s going to get them to the other side?” Tate asked.
“There’s always a brave soul when the reward is high enough,” June replied coldly. “We’re feeding so many people; it’s time they earned their keep!”
