Chapter 448.

Josie unleashed her Metallic and Plant–type superpowers at once. Her Bladestorm Array screamed forward alongside a wave of thorny vines. The sharp blades and piercing spikes tore through the snakes, but the sheer numbers were so overwhelming that her attacks were instantly swallowed by the tide.
Cyrus manipulated surrounding objects, raining down a crushing barrage on the swarm.
Julian Finch and Zane Shaw arrived one after another, joining the fray without a word. The rest of the team stayed back, responsible for
protecting the Norms and the elderly. They kept the vehicle doors sealed tight, ensuring not a single stray snake could get inside.
Zane used Lightning and Julian used Pyro–the two most powerful offensive elements. Two humans and two Undead fought side by side in a frenzy of destruction.
Lirio grabbed Ivy and charged from the flank, tearing into the battle.
The humans needed to pass. The Mutant Snakes needed human meat to level up.
The clash was instantaneous and brutal.
As the fight intensified, both sides grew increasingly vicious. Suddenly, the snake swarm split like a tide. One group stayed to pin down
Josie and Cyrus, while another surged toward the convoy.
“Don’t let them through!” Josie shouted. “To these snakes, those cars are like paper. One constriction would crush them to pieces. The people inside won’t stand a chance. Hold them here–I’m going back to block them!”
Before she could turn, Cyrus grabbed her arm. “Stay here. I’ll go.”
In a blur of motion, Cyrus appeared in the center of the convoy. He raised his hands, and an invisible Psionic Barrier instantly enveloped the entire line of vehicles.
The lunging snakes slammed into the transparent wall one after another with sickening *thuds*.
In less than three seconds, the snakes had piled up three meters high against the invisible barrier. The speed and sheer volume of the
swarm were terrifying.
It was a good thing Cyrus had stepped in. No matter how powerful Josie was, she couldn’t have held back that many individuals at once. Cyrus’s barrier was the ultimate defensive shield.
Inside the cars, the survivors watched with complex emotions. They never imagined they would one day be protected by a high–tier Undead. It was a bizarre, mind–bending reality.
Josie and the others continued to slaughter the frontline, while Cyrus strained to maintain the shield.
“Josie! Something’s wrong!” Cyrus shouted from across the battlefield. “These snakes are acting weird!”
Josie had noticed it too.
They were too frenzied. They didn’t act like intelligent mutant animals; they acted like primitive predators driven by raw instinct.
It was completely abnormal. Their size and color proved they were evolved mutants. So what was the problem?
“Ivy!” Josie roared.
“Coming!” Ivy was tossed over by Lirio, landing with a soft thud‘ as she latched onto Josie’s hair. “Mistress, what are your orders?”
“Link me to the swarm! I need to hear their thoughts!” Josie commanded.
