Chapter 460.
One of the elderly members of the group suddenly suffered a heart attack under the stress. He gasped, unable to get any air
“Chief Quinn! Help!” someone nearby screamed. “Elder Sinclair is having a heart attack!
Josie sprinted over in a blur. Without a word, she unleashed a wave of Plant-type healing
Whatever the illness was, she had to stabilize his life first! These people were walking encyclopedias, she couldn’t afford to lose a single
one.
This was exactly why Plant-type Supers were considered the ultimate logistics and medical support for any team. Under the surge of powerful energy, Elder Sinclair’s condition stabilized instantly. His complexion gradually began to improve.
This didn’t mean Plant-type superpowers were a universal cure for everything. If that were the case, the powerful elites of the world would never die; they’d just keep a group of Plant-type Supers around to extend their lives indefinitely.
Plant-type energy could temporarily hold onto a fading life, but real healing required doctors or medicine. If the internal organs had truly failed to a certain point, even the strongest energy wouldn’t help. Only a Tier-9 Plant-type Super could achieve the effect of “bringing the dead back to life.”
As for Josie’s current Tier-6 Plant-type power, it was just enough to save a poor soul she had almost forgotten.
The day Josie had hit Tier-6, she had finally pulled the Blue Owl Squad member out from the corner of her space-the one who had failed to awaken his superpower during the Power Rain and had almost completed his zombification.
In front of everyone, she had used her Tier-6 Plant-type power to forcibly drag him back from the brink of becoming an Undead. He was alive and well now. It was a shame he was destined to be a Norm for the rest of his life, but he was more than satisfied. Even though he couldn’t fight on the front lines with his comrades anymore and had to settle for a logistics role, he was happy.
After all, who would choose to be an Undead if they could remain human?
Cyrus had actually paid close attention to him for a while. The ability to reverse the process between human and Undead was a cross-species power that intrigued him immensely. However, before he could study it further, they had been too busy running for their lives.
The aftershock lasted for about fifteen minutes before subsiding.
Having survived two quakes, the group wasn’t as panicked as they had been the first time. Everyone went back to their tasks.
Josie led the Terrestrial Supers on a patrol around the summit, having them feel the ground to see if the rock beneath their feet was stable enough. Wherever the ground felt weak, they cooperated with the Metallic Supers to reinforce the peak.
Josie’s method was simple, but it was effective.
During the next few aftershocks, the summit didn’t suffer any more major collapses or landslides.
The view at the foot of the mountain was now unrecognizable. The earthquake and its aftershocks had ravaged the land until it bore no resemblance to its original state. It was a total wasteland.
Because of this, they had to hold this summit. It was their only safe foothold.
Fortunately, while the mountain wasn’t very high, its structure was solid. Most of its mass was buried deep underground, providing a stable support that allowed them to escape this catastrophe.
