Josie Quinn looked up at Cyrus Finch, her gaze freezing.

She didn’t say a single word, but her killing intent flared instantly. It was clear: if Cyrus dared to interfere with her business today. was prepared to fight him to the death.

Lirio was even more direct.

The plant hopped over, blocking the path in front of Josie. It spread its branches wide, making its protective stance unmistakable.

The moment June Quinn saw Cyrus, she was overwhelmed with relief.

“Cyrus! Save me, quickly!” June shrieked, her voice trembling. “Josie has been playing us all! Her superpower isn’t normal-it’s called Siphoning!”

“The powers she has aren’t hers! She stole them from me!”

“She already has three types of superpowers! If you let her finish this, she’ll be a five-power Super!”

“It’ll be impossible for you to suppress her then!”

“I know you’ve always wanted to kill her. You don’t want things to spiral out of your control, do you?”

“Once she grows any stronger, neither of us will be a match for her!”

“Siphoning? So that’s what it is.” Cyrus began to clap slowly. “Josie Quinn, you certainly kept that well-hidden.”

Josie didn’t respond. Instead, she pushed her speed to the limit.

If it had been just one superpower, the Siphoning would have been finished by now. But siphoning two abilities simultaneously required double-if not triple-the time and mental effort.

In the past, she had only siphoned low-tier powers, which was a quick and easy process. Tier-6, however, was considered high-tier middle rank. Siphoning it was significantly slower.

If she hadn’t caught both of them off guard today, she might not have even been this successful.

But who could have predicted that Cyrus, that bastard, would show up at the final, critical moment?

“Cyrus, what are you waiting for?” Seeing him standing still, June grew frantic. “Strike now! She can’t move right now. If you attack,

she’s dead!”

“Are you trying to tell me what to do?” Cyrus spared June a sidelong, contemptuous glance. “As if you’re worthy.”

“You…” June was nearly exploding with rage. “Do you realize what time it is?”

“Hurry it up, Josie,” Cyrus said, crossing his arms. “I set up a Psionic Domain for you for an hour. I didn’t expect you to take your time this long.”

“What? What do you mean?” June couldn’t believe her ears. “You set up a Psionic Domain? Why would you do that?”

Josie didn’t understand why Cyrus had suddenly appeared or why he had assisted her with a barrier. But now wasn’t the time to needed to finish the Siphoning first.

The dialog box before her eyes began the final countdown:

*Siphoning 95%… 96%… 97%… 98%… 100%! Siphoning Complete. Siphoning Cooldown: Eight years.”

Two massive orbs of light instantly merged into Josie’s body.

June and Jaxon Sterling stared with wide, horrified eyes before collapsing onto the floor, their bodies completely limp. They didn’t ever have the strength left to stand.

Feeling the two new surges of power within her, Josie couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction.

Excellent.

It was worth the patience and the risks she had taken until now. She was beyond pleased with the result.

“Thanks.” Now that the Siphoning was done, Josie stood up straight and gave Cyrus a brief nod.

“I don’t know why you helped me,” Josie added. “But I’ll remember this favor.”
