Arthur and Sylvia were completely paralyzed, staring at the empty space where their multimillion dollar apocalypse stash used to be.

If June’s storage was truly locked or stolen, they had to restock. Fast.

But they were tapped out. They had burned through every single cent they owned, maxed out credit cards, and borrowed from the worst sharks in the

city.

The only person left in the house with a dime to her name was Josie.

Josie watched the cold panic set into their eyes. She knew exactly what they were thinking. They were desperate.

Fine.

Let them taste what real despair feels like.

Sure,Josie said, giving a careless, elegant shrug. But I already gave almost all my cash to Dad. I’ve only got a few thousand bucks left.

She tilted her head, a mocking halfsmile playing on her lips. You want it?”

The Scum Trio’s faces turned a sickly, ashgray.

A few thousand? What the hell was that supposed to buy in a world that was already ending?

osie didn’t stop. She wanted to twist the knife until it hit bone.

Wait, didn’t you have that rich boy chasing you? Victor, right?Josie asked, her voice dripping with fake innocence. He bought you all those expensive lesigner bags and diamond watches. Just sell a couple of them and you’ll be set.

une’s lip twitched aggressively. Her hands balled into tight fists at her sides. Don’t worry about it, Josie. Mind your own fcking business.

I’m just saying,Josie continued, leaning casually against the doorframe. I was at the grocery store yesterday. People are losing their minds. Total panic >uying. Prices are skyrocketing. A loaf of bread that used to be a dollar is like four bucks now.

What? June gasped, the remaining blood draining from her face. Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!

You didn’t ask,Josie shrugged, looking bored. Why are you so worked up? It’s not like we can’t afford bread.

You don’t know sht!June screamed, dropping her sweetsister act entirely. Her face twisted into a monster’s snarl. You have no money, so shut the sell up!

une spun around and bolted out the door like a wild animal fleeing a forest fire.

Arthur and Sylvia looked utterly miserable. They wanted to rip Josie apart, but they couldn’t find an excuse. To them, Josie was just a clueless Norm vho didn’t understand the gravity of the situation.

They swallowed their rage and stormed out.

une didn’t waste a second. She tracked down her rich simp, Victor Wallace, at his private club. It was time to hit him up for a massive bailout. June, babe, what do you even need that much cash for?Victor asked, swirling his whiskey with a lazy, arrogant smirk. I already wired you fifty grand ast week. If you can’t give me a solid reason, I can’t keep the faucet running.

une was cornered. She knew that if she didn’t give him something realor a piece of herselfhe wasn’t going to budge.

You’ve noticed the prices skyrocketing, right?June asked, stepping closer and resting a hand on his chest.

Victor looked genuinely confused. Prices are up? Seemed the same to me.

Great. Another outoftouch rich kid whose butler bought his groceries.

une needed a massive restock, and she needed it today. Her only leverage left was the terrifying truth.

Every cent you lent me went straight into survival supplies,June said, lowering her voice to an urgent whisper The apocalypse is coming. Victor I’m just getting ahead of the curve.

The apocalypse? Are you kidding me?Victor burst out laughing, spilling his drink Do I look like a total moron to you?

June didn’t blink. Only the chosengot the heads up early. The ones who awakened And my family? We’re on that list.

Dad, show him.”

Arthur stepped out of the shadows. He walked over to a massive, solid marble decorative pillar weighing over half a ton and hoisted it over his head with one hand. Like it was made of styrofoam.

The club went dead silent. Victor’s jaw hit the floor.

Then, Sylvia moved. She blurred, practically teleporting across the massive room. In three seconds flat, she was standing right next to Victor, holding the whiskey glass she had just snatched from his hand.

That was the clincher. Victor’s skepticism vanished instantly. Cold, hard dread took its place. He finally believed her.

No time to waste. Start hoarding,June warned, leaning in close enough for him to smell her perfume. Once the apocalypse hits, your billions in the bank are useless.

Victor looked her dead in the eye, his gaze darkening with sudden hunger. And you? What’s your ability?

June froze. The words died in her throat.

Her Spatial Vault used to be her greatest pride. Now, she couldn’t even say the name of it without feeling physically sick.

Dammit. If I find out who did this to me, I’ll carve them to pieces.

I’ve got my own tricks,June said vaguely, flashing a seductive, promising smile. But it’s not the kind of thing I just show off for no reason.

Victor was no idiot. He realized instantly how valuable a girl connected to powers like this was. He already wanted June, but now? She was his ultimate prize.

Anything for you, babe. Your wish is my command,Victor grinned, pulling her aggressively against his chest.

June shoved a crumpled list into his hand. Stockpile everything on here. The more, the better. Grab heavy gear, too. Yachts, armored RVs, private jets.

Victor scanned the list, his eyes widening slightly before he tossed it to his butler. Get it done. I want it finished yesterday.
