Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 515

< Chapter 515.

Chapter 515.

June Quinn’s gaze darkened.

*No.*

She absolutely could not allow Malcolm Monroe and Josie Quinn to join forces. If they did, she wouldn’t have a leg to stand on!

In the past, she was a Tier-6 Aquatic Super. Malcolm had been kind to her because of her value. But now, she had lost her powers. She was just a Norm.

His current kindness was only for her mother’s sake-a side effect of his love for Sylvia Sutton.

But how long could a man’s love last?

Even if her mother was his unforgettable first love, how long would that halo stay bright?

Malcolm was only forty-five. He was in the prime of his career. There were countless young, beautiful girls throwing themselves at him. If Malcolm ever had a change of heart, both she and her mother would fall from heaven straight into hell.

She had to make a move.

June left the room with light, silent steps.

She didn’t realize that the people inside were perfectly aware of her little movements.

“The young lady has quite the calculating mind,” the aide joked after she left.”Josie Quinn is much more stable and composed than she

is.”

“She’s just a girl. It’s normal for her to have some schemes,” Malcolm replied dismissively.”As long as she behaves, I don’t mind having another daughter.”

But if she didn’t behave… that was a different story.

A man truly focused on his empire might get a little lightheaded over a first love, but he wouldn’t easily make a mistake when it came to the big picture. June’s fears were not entirely unfounded.

“Send a trusted subordinate to contact Josie again. Tell them to be polite,” Malcolm ordered.”It would be ideal if we could recruit her to our Official Base. If not, maintain a good relationship and do business. Whatever The Peaks Base offers her, we’ll double it!”

“Yes, sir!”

On the other side of the mountains.

Josie met the legendary female leader of The Peaks Base.

Nadia Neville.

Forty-one years old. Short hair, efficient, and radiating the aura of a high-powered CEO.

Nadia was the first to extend her hand. She kept her posture humble,

Josie withdrew her hand and gestured toward a chair. Please, sit.”

“Thank you.” Nadia sat down and got straight to the point. “I can see you’re a straightforward person. Fortunately, so am L. So, I won’t

beat around the bush.”

“Go ahead,” Josie nodded.

“I heard you have experts from the Agri-Science Institute here. I’d like to hire a few at a high price to come to The Peaks Base and provide some technical guidance. Of course, if you’re willing, the doors of my base are always open to you. I guarantee you the highest possible treatment,” Nadia said steadily.”While I can’t give you the position of Base Commander just yet, I can promise you’ll be second

only to me.”

Josie smiled and shook her head. “I’ll pass on joining. I’m used to my freedom. I don’t like being tied down.”

“I thought so. You’re actually very much like me,” Nadia said, not looking surprised at all.”It’s like looking at a younger version of myself.”

Josie continued, “As for the technical guidance, I’ll have to decline that as well. The experts have expressed that they don’t want to travel. They’re getting older, and trekking up and down these mountains is a bit much for them.”

“However, we can sell you some products. Seeds, fertilizer, and pesticides are all available. We won’t sell our soil-we don’t even have enough for ourselves. But we can sell improved soil with a plant mutation rate of less than two percent.”

“This soil is our proprietary technology. It’s not for open sale yet.”

“Beyond that, we can trade resources. Our location isn’t great for growing certain fruits, so we can purchase those from you.”
