“Also, do you want seafood? I have some here. I guarantee it’s fresh.” Josie raised her hand, and a pile of fish, shrimp, and crabs appeared out of her space, landing on the table.

These were things she had gathered on a whim back in Newport City. She couldn’t very well have made the trip for nothing, could she?

Aside from the mutant animals in the ocean, most were still normal. If she didn’t harvest them then, when would she?

Back when Josie was trading with the Newport City Base, she had collected a massive amount of dried and fresh seafood. Using her Metallic superpower to create fishing nets was incredibly efficient. One cast was enough to bring up a mountain of food.

She killed the mutant animals and stored the normal seafood in her space. During those days, they had gathered so much that there were several massive piles stacked like small hills in her storage space.

Seafood wasn’t rare on the coast, but in the inland mountains, it was worth its weight in gold.

Now that everyone was new to the area and in desperate need of supplies, she might as well trade what she could and make a profit.

As expected, the moment the pile of seafood hit the table, Nadia’s eyes lit up!

As the leader of a base, she naturally had some savings. If she wanted to eat something good, she could afford it.

“How much of this can you provide?” Nadia asked.

“Quite a lot,” Josie replied.”Enough to last you a lifetime if you were just eating it yourself. Don’t worry, I have enough to supply all of The Peaks Base. Besides this fresh stuff, I have even more dried seafood in much larger quantities.”

Was “a lot” even the right word? Josie had collected a staggering amount of dry goods from the Newport City Base just because she was

bored.

Nadia nodded.”Let’s discuss the price.”

“Alright!” The two women immediately began haggling.

At first, Josie had some patience, but as the talk dragged on, she started to get restless.

Kira Sinclair spoke up at the perfect moment.”Chief, didn’t you say you needed to go on a patrol? Why haven’t you left yet? The team is waiting for you.”

Josie feigned a look of conflict.”I can’t get away from this.”

“How about you leave it to me?” Kira said with a smile. “I used to work in marketing.”

“Fine, you handle the talk.” Josie stood up and pushed Kira into her seat. She smiled at Nadia.”Chief Neville, you don’t mind, do you? Kira is my right hand.”

Josie gave Kira a heavy pat on the shoulder.”Not bad, Kira! I didn’t realize you had this in you! From now on, you’re the Head of Commerce for Quinshaw Base!”
