Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 519

< Chapter 519.

Chapter 519.

Despite Nadia Neville’s warning, Malcolm Monroe refused to believe he couldn’t handle the situation. He went to meet Josie Quinn in

person.

Josie didn’t give him an inch of respect.

The moment she saw Malcolm, she sat down in a bold, unconstrained manner.”If you’re here for June Quinn and want to buy Power

Rain from me, don’t even waste your breath. The answer is no.”

“June should have told you that the list of grudges between us is miles long.”

“That includes Sylvia Sutton, the woman you’ve put on a pedestal. She’s one of my greatest enemies.”

“My mother died at the hands of that mother-daughter duo. Do you really think I’m stupid enough to help my enemies grow stronger?”

“In fact, my biological father likely died because of them, too. So, tell me, Chief Monroe-just how oblivious are you to invite such wolves into your home so willingly?”

Josie let out a mocking laugh.”You might be fine with it, but I’m not!”

Since becoming the Base Commander of the Official Base, Malcolm had been used to being the ultimate authority. Being mocked by a girl twenty years younger than him, he found it hard to maintain his composure.

But he couldn’t lash out.

Josie was already a Tier-7 Metallic Super, and her Plant-type power was on the verge of hitting Tier-7 as well. She was, without question, the strongest human alive. There was no one else even close.

She had every right to be arrogant. She had every right to mock whoever she pleased.

Malcolm was a cunning man. Despite Josie’s cold ridicule, he forced himself to swallow his pride.

He forced a smile. “I’m just a middle-aged man caught in a late-blooming romance. I’ve made a fool of myself; I can see that now.”

Josie shook her head, unimpressed. “What does that have to do with me? Whether you live or die is none of my business.”

“Fair point. That’s why I didn’t just come here for that,” Malcolm continued. “I want to talk business. I don’t need the Power Rain. I want

to trade for other things!”

“Other business? Why didn’t you say so earlier!” Josie waved a hand toward her subordinates. “Go get Kira Sinclair!”

Josie stood up.”Kira handles all the trade and operations for Quinshaw Base. Talk to her. I have things to do, so I’m leaving!”

With that, she walked out without looking back.

She didn’t give Malcolm a shred of face.

Malcolm was fuming inside, but his expression remained as steady as a rock. He sat there, composed and silent, until Kira arrived.

But in the next heartbeat, a Cryo Dragon lunged from Kira’s palm. It opened its maw and swallowed the fireball whole.

The entire exchange happened in the blink of an eye.

Kira frowned.”Chief Monroe, who are you saying is playing with you? What? Am I not worthy of handling a trade with you?”

In the apocalypse, strength was everything.

Kira might be young, but she was a Tier-5 Cryo Super. More importantly, Ice countered Fire. Even if Malcolm was a Super, the elemental advantage meant Kira could suppress him completely.

Seeing the Cryo Dragon, Malcolm finally regained his composure.

He realized he had miscalculated again.

Quinshaw Base was truly a den of hidden tigers. Even a random girl handling their trade was an elite warrior.

Tier-5 Pyro

“Are we still talking?” Kira looked at Malcolm with clear dissatisfaction.”Quinshaw Base doesn’t *need* this trade, you know.”

“My apologies. I was impulsive,” Malcolm said, immediately changing his tune.
