Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 52

my parents. If I don’t look out for you, how could I ever show my face around you again?

You’re my world. If you’re doing well, then I’m doing well.

Hahaha! You always know exactly what to say!Victor patted her cheek, looking smug and satisfied. Don’t worry. As long as you stay loyal to me, I’ll take care of your whole family.

Is that even a question? I’m already all yours.June grabbed the glass of milk off the table and held it to Victor’s lips. Here, she purred, her voice dripping with sweetness. Take a sip.

Tm done. This milk tastes like trash.Victor frowned, his nose wrinkling in disgust. It’s got this nastyass funk to it.

You were used to the topshelf, eliteonly supply back then. Of course it tasted better,June said. This is just the cheap crap the masses drink. I’m doing my best here, but you won’t find the premium stuff anywhere these days.

Just deal with it for now. Once I get the word, I’ll take a crew and snatch the good stuff for you! My Mr. Victor deserves only the best.

June pressed the glass to his lips again. You aren’t gonna tell me I’m not working hard enough for you, are you?

No way. The rich kid finally took the glass. He frowned, then downed the whole thing in one gulp.

He didn’t notice the smirk spreading across June’s facesharp, cold, and mocking.

He had no clue the milk was spiked.

It wasn’t poison.

It was a cocktail of heavyduty antipsychotics.

Even someone who actually needed the stuff would go manic after taking it.

For a Norm? It was a total mental breakdown waiting to happen.

Once the drugs completely fried his brain and turned him into a raging psycho, everyone would naturally look for a new leader. They’d want someone alm. Someone capable. Someone like June.

When the time was right, Victor would be history, and she’d take his place.

Their current crew was too onedimensional.

une had already done the mathif she wanted to stay on top in this hellscape, she needed to bring in Supers.

But a petty prick like Victor? He’d never let anyone stronger than him stick around.

So, Victor just had to die. Simple as that.

Two different factions were already eyeing the cold storage warehouse on the outskirts of the city.

Actually, it wasn’t just them. The people at the top were watching it, too.

But it was just like June said.

The military was pouring all their energy into the main grain silos right now. There were millions of tons of grain there that needed to be moved ASAP.

They were also busting their asses trying to build secure bunkers to store it all.

They were stretched too thin. They didn’t have the manpower to worry about one small warehouse in the suburbs.

Sure, it had food, but compared to the main silos, it was small change.

Plus, the government’s priority was staples and seeds. Fruits and veggies were just extras. They weren’t even on the radar yet.

June and Josie were both betting on this exatt window of opportunity.

The brass didn’t give a damn about a smallcold storage unit, but to June and Josie? It was a goldmine.

We’re talking tens of millions of tons of fresh produce and millions of tons of grain.
