At the foot of the mountain, Josie pulled a car out of her space.

Zane naturally took the driver’s seat and opened the door for Josie.

As they set off, Josie spoke.“Nadia Neville sent me a message. She says Felix Fletcher has always been a loner. Inviting the three of us out of the blue means he’s facing a problem he can’t solve on his own. She warned me not to agree to his requests too easily.”

Zane replied while driving, “Right. We’re the new kids on the block; we shouldn’t be the nail that sticks out. Let’s see what the other two pases have to say first.”

“I have a nagging gut feeling,” Josie said, her brow furrowing.“This isn’t a small problem. The Rivers Base is either failing to handle it or simp can’t handle it, which is why they asked us over.”

Since her Spatial Superpower had reached Tier–6, Josie had begun to catch glimpses of the underlying rules of the world/Now that she was nearing Tier–7, that mysterious, unexplainable intuition had become even clearer.

She felt that whatever was happening this time was far from ordinary.

Zane said casually, “It can’t be another Doomsday Quake, can it? If it is, we really might have to move to The Himalayas.”

Josie arched an eyebrow. “Hey, don’t say that. It might actually be a mess on that scale.”

Zane immediately slapped his own mouth.“My big mouth! I’m sure my prediction is wrong!”

“The world has already become something we don’t recognize,” Josie said.“Have you noticed that time has been getting weird lately?”

“I think so. It feels like the earth’s rotation has slowed down a lot,” Zane replied. “Both days and nights are getting longer. It used to be light by 7:00 AM, but now it doesn’t dawn until 8:00 AM. It used to get dark at 6:00 PM, but now the sun doesn’t go down until after 7:30 PM.”

The sky was

vas as clear as a mirror. There wasn’t a single sign of an anomaly.

Please, Josie thought to herself, don’t let anything else go wrong. They had finally settled down; they really didn’t want to have to move again.

Josie stowed the car back into her space as an enthusiastic guide came over to greet them.“Are you Chief Quinn from Quinshaw Base?”
