Chapter 531.

Josie Quinn and Zane Shaw were rushing back in a hurry.

However, halfway through their journey, their car was intercepted.

The person blocking their path was none other than Julian Finch.

“Hey, gorgeous,” Julian waved at Josie.”It’s been a while. Did you miss me?”

Josie’s brow furrowed.

Before she could snap at him, Julian spoke again.”My brother sent me to get you. He said he has a major discovery. This could involve the survival of every species on the planet!”

“What do you mean?” Josie countered.

“You’ll know when you get there.” Julian tilted his head, eyeing her.”You aren’t scared to come, are you?”

Zane spoke up.”Josie, let’s not waste our breath on him. We have too much to do!”

“You’re rushing back because you found out the mutants are evolving at breakneck speed, right? What a coincidence. My brother noticed the same thing. He went looking for clues and found something even deeper,” Julian said with a grin.”Whether it’s humans, the Undead, or mutants, my brother’s IQ has always been the highest and most impressive!”

“If you don’t come, you’ll definitely regret it!”

Josie turned to Zane.”Go back first. I’ll be back in a flash!”

With a wave of her hand, she pulled another car out of her space and gestured to Julian.”Lead the way!”

Julian let out a sharp whistle and hopped into his own vehicle, pointing toward the horizon.”That way!” Josie floored the accelerator.

After nearly an hour of driving over rugged terrain, they arrived.

From a distance, she could see Cyrus Finch crouching on the ground, seemingly observing something.

“What did you find?” Josie asked, crouching down beside him.”What is this?”

“Josie, we might be in big trouble,” Cyrus replied, his expression grim.”Look at this. This shouldn’t be here.” Curious, Josie reached out and took the object from him, weighing it in her palm.”Gold?”

“To be precise, this is mantle gold,” Cyrus answered.”It should never appear on the surface of the crust.

Josie’s movements froze. A ridiculous thought suddenly flashed through her mind.”Is something wrong with the Earth?”

“It seems you’ve realized it too,” Cyrus said. “It’s not just a problem; it’s a catastrophe. Under what circumstances would massive amounts of gold be forced out of the mantle and spread onto the crust in such a short time? Where does the gold in the mantle come from?”

“The planetary core!” Josie’s heart skipped a beat.”Something is wrong with the core!”

“If that’s the case, the entire planet is finished!”

Cyrus nodded.”Exactly. Now the question is: what is causing the core to malfunction?”

Josie felt her mind racing in a dozen directions. She raised a hand to pause Cyrus’s train of thought.”I just came back from The Rivers Base. I have some very bad news. The evolution of mutant animals has far exceeded the speed of natural selection. I have a gut feeling that an invisible hand is frantically catalyzing every living thing in this world.”

“The one behind this hand seems to be running a gladiator-style test to pick out the toughest fighters on the planet.”

“That ‘strongest could be humans, the Undead, or mutants!”

“So the question is: who is catalyzing this planet? What is the purpose?”

“Is this ‘strongest survivor being chosen to fight against something?”
