Chapter 560.

The ox nodded, bent its front legs in a final bow, and then trotted away.

Once the ox was gone, Julian asked in awe, “Josie, that was incredible! You can actually talk to Mutant Fauna!”

“Yeah,” Josie didn’t bother explaining that it was all thanks to Ivy. “You should get going. Don’t forget to level up as fast as you can!”

“Don’t worry! My brother is already out looking for a place to detonate a nuke,” Julian said. “We’ll probably be back in a month.”

“Go ahead then!” Josie waved to Julian and walked away with a carefree stride.

Julian watched her retreating back, clicking his tongue and shaking his head. “What a pity,” he muttered to himself. “Why do we have to be different species?”

He then turned and left.

His brother was right. This was the final sprint. He had to work hard to level up. With any luck, he and Cyrus could both hit Tier-8 this time! That way, no matter how the world changed, they would have a place to stand.

Josie took the cloth back to Quinshaw Base and called for the experts and professors.

She tossed the cloth onto the table. It unrolled with a snap, covering the entire surface.

Several elderly professors immediately put on their reading glasses and grabbed magnifying glasses, leaning over the table with

excitement.

“This is the prototype for ancient proto-glyphs! No doubt about it!”

“Move, move! Let my wife see. She studied Oracle Bone Script when she was young.”

“My husband studied it too! Old man, take a look!”

“I want a look too! I haven’t studied Oracle Bone Script specifically, but I know a thing or two about the evolution of writing!”

The professors nearly came to blows over the cloth.

Josie didn’t care. She left it with them and walked out.

“Zane Shaw!”

“Present!” Zane arrived at Josie’s side instantly, looking at her with a smile.”Are things about to get busy? Don’t worry, you focus on your work. Leave the base to me. I guarantee there won’t be any problems.”

Josie laughed and gave Zane a playful tap on the chest. “Alright, I’m counting on you. I can rest easy with you here!”

Those simple words made Zane feel a sweet warmth spread through his heart.

“Yeah, you can trust me,” Zane said. “I’ll have people patrolling day and night.”

“Keep an eye on the Mutant Fauna,” Josie added. “I’m afraid they’ll act like they know more than they do and cause trouble. If they don’t listen, use thermal weapons. Teach them how to behave.”

“Our weapons might not be a match for an interstellar civilization, but they’re more than enough to handle a bunch of primitive tribes that just learned how to think.”
