Memo
June didn’t bother going home that night. She crashed in the silk sheets of Victor Wallace’s penthouse instead.
There was a reason she had been the “Main Character” in Josie’s original timeline. June wasn’t some naive girl blinded by romance. She was a predator who knew exactly how to use her assets.
In the past life, she had used her Spatial Vault and hoarded supplies to become the untouchable queen of the Safe Zone. She was a master at playing men, weaving through powerful warlords to get exactly what she wanted.
In this life, June had lost her biggest edge–her space and her supplies. But she didn’t miss a beat. She immediately pivoted to her next best weapon: her body.
She climbed into Victor’s bed, and just like that, she secured her position in his inner circle. She had the arrogant heir completely wrapped around her finger.
“Didn’t you say you’d give me your sister?” Victor asked, his voice rough with sleep. He twirled a lock of June’s hair around his finger, a hungry, possessive glint in his eyes. “When do I get her?”
“Why wait?” June gave a cold, sharp smile, trailing her nails down his chest. ‘Let’s do it tonight.”
She reached into her designer purse and tossed a set of keys onto his nightstand. “Here are the keys to the house. Josie is just a Norm–no powers, no strength. Send a couple of your guys. They can drag her back here without breaking a sweat.”
“My big sister thinks she’s so high and mighty,” June whispered, her eyes flashing with pure malice. “Make sure you… entertain her properly.”
Victor chuckled, giving her hip a hard squeeze. “Not jealous? You’re being awfully generous sharing my bed.”
June leaned into him, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. “I know a man like you, Victor–a man meant to rule this new world–is always going to have a harem. I’m not delusional enough to think I’ll be your only onc. As long as I’m your favorite, I’m happy.”
Victor let out a loud, booming laugh. That’s what I like about you, June. You know how to play the game. No matter who else I bring around, you’re always number one.”
June smiled like she was over the moon, but inside, her heart was ice–cold.
She never believed a single word men said. Promises were garbage.
She only cared about real power. To her, Victor was just a tool. A stepping stone she was going to use to climb to the absolute top of the food chain. Once she had the power, she could have any man she wanted.
Be just another girl in some guy’s harem? Dream on.
Victor moved fast. He dispatched two of his top muscle men straight to the Quinn house to secure his new prize.
But the second the goons kicked the front door open, they froze.
The stench of blood hit them like a physical wall.
in the center of the living room, June’s parents were locked in a brutal, bloody struggle with a rotting, putrid corpse.
Both of Arthur and Sylvia’s legs were gone. Hacked off clean above the knees. Blood pooled around them on the hardwood floor. Yet, somehow, the wo crippled Supers were still holding their own, wrestling the monster back with superhuman strength and speed.
Help! Over here!” Arthur shouted, his eyes lighting up with desperate, frantic hope when he saw the men. “This guy’s lost his mind! He’s hiting everyone! Get him off us, now!”
The two goons didn’t move. They just stared at the bloody stumps and the rabid attacker, looking bored and mildly disgusted. “Where’s Josie? We’re here to pick her up. Boss’s orders.”
‘I have no idea where that little btch went!” Sylvia spat, her eyes wild with hate as she pinned the rotting man’s arms back. She’s the one who hacked our legs off! Look, I’ll give you ten grand! Just help us find our legs and get us to an ER!
Sylvia saw them hesitate and played her trump card. “You know my daughter, June! She’s your boss’s girl now. One whisper from her, and you two are golden. You get what I’m saying, right?”
The two men traded looks. The mention of June was enough. They finally stepped in, grabbing the rabid man by the collar and throwing him hard against the wall.
“Holy sht!” one of the goons gasped, his face turning pale as he got a good look at the creature. “What the hell is wrong with this guy? He’s completely

“She was our neighbor, Arthur wheezed, his face gray from blood loss. “We yelled for help, and she just… she broke through the window looking like this. Did you guys notice anything weird on your way here?”
Both men shook their heads. They had driven straight over from the penthouse and hadn’t paid attention to the streets.
But now that Arthur mentioned it… it was too quiet.
Usually, the morning rush hour would be in full swing. Today? They hadn’t seen a single car. Not a single pedestrian.
