But he wasn’t trying to drown them. He was soaking them so the electricity would travel. He wanted Zane’s lightning to hit as marry targets as possible.
And damn, it worked.
The results were instant.
The other Supers in the back saw it and followed suit. They paired up, using the Elemental Cycle to boost their attacks.
It was wild. A bunch of Basic Tier humans were actually holding their own against a swarm of Tier–1 Undead.
Zane had been stuck right on the edge of Tier–2 for a while now.
But this fight was a blessing in disguise. The pressure forced a breakthrough, and he finally snapped past the limit. He was Tier–2
now.
Tier–2 Lightning was a whole different beast.
At Tier–1, he could only squeeze out two small sparks. Now? He was throwing four massive bolts of energy.
The range and the raw power were on another level.
The team had been struggling, but Zane’s level–up flipped the script. The pressure vanished in a heartbeat.
Zane wasn’t just a heavy hitter; he was sharp. He immediately realized the trick to leveling up his powers.
Zane snapped immediately, “The more we push our powers, the faster we level up! This place is crawling with Tier–1 Undead–it’s the perfect chance. I’ll cover you guys. Get in there!”
‘Copy that!” His team shifted formation instantly. The Basic Tier Supers took the front line while Zane moved to the flank to provide backup.
He only stepped in when things got too heavy for them to handle.
As long as they could hold the line, Zane stayed back and let them work.
Just like that, they fought tooth and nail from noon straight through till nightfall.
By the time they finished, every single Super in the Blue Owl Squad had hit Tier–1.
They were bone–tired, but the rush of leveling up gave them a second wind. They surged forward like a force of nature, tearing ight through the industrial zone.
Meanwhile, the crew chasing the Blue Owl Squad hit a wall. The Undead in the industrial zone had them completely pinned down.
Most of the pursuers were just Norms. Facing a swarm of that size? They completely lost their shit.
They’ve been in there this long and haven’t come out. The Undead must’ve torn them to pieces by now,” someone muttered. “Who vould’ve thought the legendary Blue Owl Squad would go out like this?”
Alright, cut the crap! If they’re dead, they’re dead. No point wasting any more time on them. Fort City is finally ours!”
Hell yeah. Let’s head back. We’ve got real business to take care of!”
ust like that, the pursuers cleared out.
The Blue Owl Squad was safe for now, but they’d just been officially disowned.
Once Zane got the team back to the outskirts, he sent a scout to gather intel. When the man returned, the news he brought made everyone’s blood run cold.
‘What did you just say? They stripped our ranks? Who the hell gave them the right?” one of Zane’s men snapped, his face flushed with rage. “We aren’t even in their chain of command! How can they touch our status?”

The scout shook his head. “They’re claiming the Captain failed to protect the armory—that he worked with outsiders to mea government property. They’re calling it treason. They said if there was still a court–martial, he’d be on trial, fut since the couNTER are gone, they just kicked us out. As of now, the Captain is officially stripped of his rank. He’s no longer a soldier.”
Zane let out a sharp, cold laugh.
