Chapter 92
Stain Com By Cha

A pet dog was hunched over a corpse, tearing into the meat.
A stray eating a body wasn’t exactly news anymore.
But this dog looked demonic. Its face was twisted, and its eyes glowed a feral, blood–red. Something was very wrong with it.
“Kill it!” June snapped. “Don’t let it get anywhere near us!”
BANG!
A bullet zipped toward the dog, grazing its fur.
It actually dodged.
June and her team froze, their faces turning pale.
A dog just dodged a bullet?
How was that even possible?
“Grrrrr…” The dog lowered its head, arching its back as a low, guttural snarl ripped from its throat. It was locking onto them, ready to kill.
June grabbed a gun from one of her guys and unloaded on the dog.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Every single shot missed. The bullets grazed the beast, but it was too fast.
June was stone–cold. She didn’t hesitate. “Switch to blades!” she barked. “Everyone, move in!”
Two guys yanked out their machetes and closed in on the dog.
As they got closer, they saw its face was completely warped.
It was hideous–a total nightmare.
Their legs were shaking, but they sucked it up. They charged, swinging their machetes at the beast.
The dog snapped. It lunged at one of them, its teeth locking onto his blade. It reared up, claws out, trying to rip the guy’s throat out.
The other guy moved fast. He swung hard, his blade slamming right into the dog’s side.
The dog let out a sharp shriek and hit the dirt.
The two of them went feral, hacking and slashing like crazy until the dog was nothing but a pile of shredded meat.
Only then did they stop.
“June, look at this thing,” one of them said, panting. “It’s not normal. It’s like it… mutated or something.
June pinched her nose and walked over. She watched it coldly for a second, then nodded. “Definitely not a normal dog. Just like people turning into the Undead, this thing mutated. But it’s still a dog, not an Undead one.”
“June, look,” someone piped up, noticing the shift in the air. “Weren’t there way fewer flowers yesterday? It’s like they grew ten times over in a single night.”
That hit them. Everyone started to realize something was seriously wrong.
“Stop the scavenging. We’re heading back, now,” June said, her voice ice–cold. “I’m going to the base to see what’s really going on.”
“Anyway, what’s Victor been up to today?” June asked.
“Victor… he…” The group hesitated, trading uneasy looks.

A faint smirk played behind June’s eyes.
She played dumb, her expression innocent. “Just spit it out. Stop beating around the bush.”

“Mr. Victor called four girls over to his place last night… and he still hasn’t come out!” The group turned to June in unison, their eyes locked on her face, waiting for her to snap.
Any normal girl would’ve lost her shit hearing her boyfriend was hooking up with other women. She’d be screaming or throwing a fit by now.
June didn’t even flinch. She just said calmly, “Victor does a lot for this team. If he needs a few girls to blow off some steam, that’s his business. Don’t worry about it. Whatever he isn’t handling, I will. I’m not leaving any of you behind.”
With those few words, she had them in the palm of her hand.
The group instantly warmed up to her, their loyalty shifting. “We’re with you, June! All the way.”
