Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 93

Clan 50 Coins by Chuck

Men

Tate had promised her three VIP passes, but that deal was dead in the water now.

Every time June thought about it, she grit her teeth in pure rage.

The prize had been right there in her hands, and then it was gone.

It was a total gut punch.

She rubbed her temples, a headache forming. She wasn’t supposed to be this unlucky.

Why was everything going wrong?

June headed to Tate’s office. Before going in, she pulled out a mirror, touched up her lipstick, and fixed her hair. Once she looked perfect, she knocked.

Hey, Tate,she cooed.

She ignored his icy stare and slid right onto his lap. I’m sorry, she purred, acting sweet. I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to come see you. You aren’t still mad at me, are you?

Oh, I wouldn’t dare,Tate snapped, his voice dripping with venom. Last time you showed up, I lost three billion tons of grain. If you come by a few more times, this whole base will be picked clean!

June’s blood boiled, but she forced a look of shock and hurt onto her face. Tate, I let you search my place, didn’t I? If I actually had the power to make three billion tons of grain vanish into thin air, I’d be running this world by now. I wouldn’t be getting chased around by some damn dog.

I was out scavenging with the team today, and we ran into this little dog. It was so mean, snapping at everyone! I was so scared.June dove straight into Tate’s arms, her voice turning sweet and needy. In that moment, I just kept thinkingif only you were there, Tate. You would’ve protected me. You’d never let anything scare me like that.

She finished, looking up at Tate with big, innocent puppydog eyes. Then she pressed her whole body against him, whining and

acting cute.

Let’s be real.

No man at least, no normal mancan resist a beautiful woman when she starts acting all sweet and clingy.

Especially not when a girl as dropdead gorgeous as June was the one doing it.

Tate folded instantly.

He pulled her into his arms and took a deep breath, his nose grazing the curve of her neck. Victor didn’t protect you?he asked, his

voice low.

Ugh, don’t even get me started.June sat up, her face clouded with worry. I don’t know what’s gotten into him lately. He’s completely checked out. All he cares about is hooking up with random girls.

It’s not like I’m jealous or anything. I just think we’re going to lose the crew if this keeps up. Everyone is losing respect for him.

Plus, he’s been so unstable lately. He snaps over the smallest things and takes it out on the guys. He’s constantly looking for an excuse to punish them.
