Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1054

Abriella sniffled, wiping her nose, and was just about to let go so she could properly introduce everyone. Emmy had lost over a year of memories, after all. But before she could say anything, Emmy spoke up first.

“Ms. Moore.”

She looked at the woman in front of her, who was fighting back tears, eyes full of kindness. “This past year must have been hard. Thank you for everything. Thank you for waiting for me.”

Sylvia's eyes lit up with surprise and joy. Emmy actually remembered her. Even after everything, even with her memory loss, she still recognized her. Overcome, Sylvia hurried forward and wrapped Emmy in a tight hug.

“Of course. I’m just so glad you’re back.”

They held each other for a moment before Sylvia let go, lifting her hand to wipe away the tears at the corner of her eye. As she moved, her sleeve slipped upward. A colorful seashell bracelet caught the light, sparkling.

Emmy stared. That bracelet looked so familiar. She was sure she’d seen it before. Wasn’t that the one she gave to Danny, to give to his girlfriend? Why did Sylvia have one too?

Abriella noticed Emmy’s attention on the bracelet, and immediately raised her own wrist, shaking it with a grin.

“Look! I’ve got one too!”

“Emmy, your taste is honestly the best. I absolutely love it!”

Emmy was baffled. Abriella had one as well? Before she could process that, Krystina walked over, rolling up her shirt sleeve to reveal a matching seashell bracelet on her own wrist.

Krystina smiled. “Thank you, Mrs. Lincoln. We all love them.”

That’s when Emmy finally got it. She’d totally misunderstood. Danny hadn’t just given the bracelet to a girlfriend. He’d handed them out to all her female friends on her behalf.

Looking at the identical bracelets on her friends, Emmy felt a surge of warmth. She smiled.

“I’m glad you girls like them.” The corners of her mouth tipped up. “But honestly, these are more for fun. Not really everyday wear. I’ll get you all something else soon.”

After all, each one of them was the picture of elegance and wealth. Wearing a five-dollar seashell bracelet was a little off, to say the least.

At that, Abriella's eyes practically sparkled. She grabbed Emmy’s arm, bouncing with excitement.

“No jewelry for me, please!”

She leaned in, eyes wide and dramatic. “Emmy, I heard you’ve got an entire island made of gold.”

Emmy hesitated. She’d only just pieced together that this James was Abriella’s James. Hearing his name again, she couldn’t help but marvel at how small the world really was. The way their lives kept tangling together felt almost magical.

But did she really love James?

She lowered her gaze, fingers tracing the rim of her wine glass. After thinking for a moment, she nodded.

Abriella was about to squeal with excitement, but before she could, Emmy shook her head.

“Wait, what?!” Abriella practically spilled her wine as she shook Emmy’s arm. “Yes or no, Emmy! You’re driving me crazy here!”

Emmy laughed softly, steadying her friend’s hand.

“I honestly don’t know.”

And she meant it. Her memory wasn’t all the way back, and her feelings were just too tangled.

“But…”
