A young guy in a designer shirt was leaning against an open door, reeking of booze, his eyes roaming over her without a hint of shame.

“Well, look at you, getting prettier every day. Why don’t you come sing with us?” He grinned, sleazy and bold. “We’ve got the good stuff in here. I promise, one drink will make you forget everything.”

Before he could finish, a dark blur shot out from behind Emmy.

Penny’s face was stone cold. Her long legs moved with lightning speed, her kick landing with brutal precision right in the man’s stomach.

The thud echoed through the hallway.

The guy who’d been mouthing off flew backward into the room, smashing hard into the glass coffee table. Cups and bottles shattered, leaving a messy pile of broken glass and spilled liquor.
