“If you don’t believe me, tomorrow I’ll drag you to the suite so we can see for ourselves.” Harlene was sitting cross-legged on the bed, her eyes practically sparkling with excitement. “I swear, I’ve met so many guys, but someone like him is one in a million.”
“You should have seen the way he looked at people. Just one casual glance and I got chills. Honestly, it made me want to just kneel and call him daddy.” She grinned, clearly enjoying the drama of her own words.
“Since when do researchers have that kind of vibe?” She shook her head. “Even John, who’s officially hot, has that whole bookish thing going on. But this guy… he’s different. The man is pure walking hormones.”
“Anyway, he’s ridiculously good looking. We might as well go say hi tomorrow. Everyone’s staying on the same floor.”
Emmy could only watch as her American roommate got more and more worked up. She tried to get things back to business. “Honestly, checking out hot guys is great, but shouldn’t you be working on your acceptance speech?”
“Yours is ready, right?”
Mentioning work snapped Harlene out of her fangirl mode. She gave Emmy a secretive grin. “Actually, I’ve got some good news for you, Lin. You might want to get two speeches ready.”
Emmy’s fingers froze on the keyboard. She looked up, confused. “Wait, two? Why? I thought each project could only win one award.”
Harlene slung an arm over Emmy’s shoulders, grinning wide. “We were planning to surprise you tomorrow, but I can’t help it. You know how our group is. Most people are moving on after this project, but you… you’re different.”
“We all see it, Lin. You really belong here. You’re the one we’re all proud of.”
“So, during that quick meeting earlier, everyone voted. If we win tomorrow, John will speak as team leader, but we want you and me to give the core team speech.”
Emmy just stared, completely stunned. “But… I can’t…”
Harlene jumped in before she could finish. Her voice was steady and strong. “Lin, don’t forget, without you rebuilding the core logic these past few months, and without your million-dollar investment, there’s no way we would’ve finished the core data on time. Without you, we probably wouldn’t even graduate, let alone win anything.”
“In this team, anyone could leave except you.”

What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....
CHAPTER 1220 HAS NO WORDING JUST THE CHAPTER NUMBER...
Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
