Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1319

Mercedes hovered in the water, watching as Emmy swam farther and farther away. Behind the safety of her goggles, her eyes flashed with something dark and dangerous.

Penny noticed Mercedes falling back. She figured Mercedes just wasn’t a strong diver, so she kicked a little harder, gliding past her in an effort to catch up with Emmy ahead. But at the very moment Penny floated by, Mercedes suddenly reached out and grabbed hold of one of Penny’s flippers. The move was so fast, Penny lost her balance right away.

Luckily, Penny’s training had taught her to react fast, no matter the situation. She twisted her body in the water and kicked out hard with her free foot, connecting solidly with Mercedes’s shoulder. That got Mercedes to let go, her face twisting as she tried to shake off the pain.

Penny steadied herself, ready to swim after Emmy again. That was when she looked up and saw Mercedes floating just a few meters away, not making another move. Instead, Mercedes waved at her with a little flick of her hand, a smug smile hiding behind her goggles. Penny’s heart skipped a beat. Something felt wrong. Something felt really, really wrong.

Before she could do anything else, the calm blue waters around her shifted—and out of nowhere, shadows darted all around. Four men in black wetsuits appeared, each one gripping a sharp diving knife. They seemed to materialize from the depths, moving like silent ghosts until they had Penny surrounded in a tight circle. The look in their eyes was icy cold, the kind only real killers can pull off.

Penny felt a chill run through her. Suddenly, she understood. This wasn’t some friendly competition. It was a setup. It was a trap, and she had walked right into it.

“Ma’am!” Penny tried to warn Emmy through her underwater communicator, but all that came through was a burst of harsh static. The signal was jammed. No help was coming.

Emmy by now had already dived to a depth of twenty meters. She was far out of reach. Down here, where the light barely filtered through, Emmy was busy studying the coral reefs below, completely unaware of the danger just above her.

Chapter 1319 2

Just as she exhaled the last of her breath and reached for another draw of air… nothing came. Her lungs instinctively tried again. Still nothing. No air at all, just a hollow emptiness in her regulator.

Chapter 1319 3

Pure instinct took over. Emmy spun around, kicking hard toward the surface, determined to get there before her lungs gave out. She could make it if she moved fast enough, relying on just this last bit of air.

But as she turned, what she saw made her blood run cold.
